ONE-MAN TEAM

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Save the nonsense, Jack is of similar age and looks light years ahead, he's having his chance and not taking advantage of it, if you think otherwise then you can't be watching the games.

Too many fancy flicks and stay passes for me.

Gee, I wonder if Jack's 11 months of added experience while Ramsey had a broken leg might have made a difference on that one. Besides, you're comparing a great talent to a prodigy - you compare anyone at Jack's age to him and they're going to look bad. Brilliant analogy  We should compare Theo to Messi, they're of similar age but Messi is also light years ahead, I guess Theo must be having a poor season.

Don't be silly, Ramsey was getting first team experience and playing in an FA Cup final while Jack was in the youth team, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Ramsey but there's only so long he can hide behind his injury, Eduardo was not afforded the same luxury.

Barriecuda is pretty much spot on about Rambo. Unfortunately, giving in to hyperbole is all part and parcel of modern day football, I'm afraid.

Don't get me wrong, he's put in some pants performances this season but he's 21. Why do people find it so hard to accept that, at the age of 21 footballers are bound to have their share of poor games. Especially ones who have only recently come back from career threatening injuries. Therefore, in the grand scheme of things, I'd say he's been one of the few successes this season. For the first few weeks, he was very poor. However, he's improved drastically and put in a few man of the match performances in important games - all in a role that has been vacated by one of the best in the modern game. Big shoes to fill, indeed.

Cesc, he ain't. He's a 21 year-old midfielder with huge talent who is still learning the ropes. Comparing him to Jack is nonsense and, for a normally pretty sensible poster, Gunnersaurus should know better. Jack is a once-in-a-generation player. Rambo ain't. That isn't to say that he can't be very successful with us though.

This is one of the many things I detest about modern football (and, admittedly, I am guilty of it sometimes too); a player has a bad game or two and "oh, he's been shit all season." Last week Gervinho was shit and this week he's a difference maker.

Oh, and before I get accused of being an AKB (I cringe every time is see someone label someone else as an 'AKB' by the way), I'm not. I'm merely saying that, out of all of the many people we as Gooners should rightly be annoyed with, Rambo ain't one of them.

Oh, and of course we're not a one-man team. What nonsense. So, if RvP took the field on his own, he'd get the same result (reminds me of the old Dennis vs. Sp*rs joke)? Of course not. Yes, we're very reliant on RvP's goals at the moment, but to suggest that he is the only reason we are getting results is beyond ridiculous.

He has.
Are you both high? The kid is what, 19, and has been slotted into a starting role on a top club. He's been making great passes, finding space, and starting half our counter attacks going almost box to box. He had a composed finish against Marseille and has looked energetic in almost every game this year, with the exception of a couple notable bad games against Sp*rs and United early on. He missed a couple today and now he's "been poor this season". Get off of it.
Agree with Barrie.

Your damn well right, and sadly this will not change in Wenger reign.

Ali I hope is that TV5 and our keeper stay fit, as they bring a solid look to the back four. Then we'll have a chance of finishing in the top 4, otherwise I cannot see it with this squad. :(
