You're joking, aren't you? Wilshere, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Vermaelen, Sagna
And Augie, forgive me mate, but didn't his introduction against Fulham ahead of other players on the bench, trigger the fight back in the last 20 minutes?
No, no it most definitely did not, he was shit, ineffective and did nothing but slow down potentially dangerous attacks..
We should all be hoping that he regains full fitness for the second half of the season.

I'm joking.....and you compare him to a centre half and a full-back ??SWLGooner wrote:SteveO 35 wrote: Other than RvP, the most naturally gifted player in the side.

He's much more naturally talented than Ramsey and Chamberlain. On a par with Wilshere. He was the brightest talent in the French U-21s before he got crocked by that fucker at Sunderland. You can't be captain of your country's junior teams, especially a country like France, without having natural talent.
Personally I'd rather pay to watch a guy who has the ability to change a game, than someone like Denilson or Chamakh.
If the guy returns to full fitness, has a run of 20 games or so and fails to deliver then by all means jump in. Walcott need a huge number of games before he even started to realise some of his promise this season. RvP had many an indifferent period in between the injuries.
I wouldn't write Abou off yet

On a par with Wilshere? I wouldn't agree with that. At best on a par with Ramsey and less than AOC or Wilshere.
I'd rather not pay to watch Diaby, Denilson or Chamakh, Diaby is the lesser of three evils though.
I have written him off, he's had more than enough chances, time to sell him on.
And he's a scum-loving *word censored*.

I know you like to wind people up with your 'love' for Aboo SteveO but he's not fit to tie Wilshere's laces, let alone play on the same pitch as Jack!!
Diaby has some natural talent, supplemented by a brain the size of a gnats cock, truly a thick as shit liability and it's this brain dead handicap he has that means he will NEVER be a decent player. Oh, and injuries have never affected his dumb ass thick as shit stoopid decision making on the pitch game after game that he's played!

TeeCee - I genuinely don't like to wind people up about Abou (OK maybe a little bit when you all protest too muchTeeCee wrote:![]()

I do genuinely believe Diaby has a natural talent that is rare. Admittedly it hasn't been shown anywhere near consistently enough. But when he gets the ball I expect things to happen in a way that I don't think any of our other midfielders are capable of.
I certainly don't understand the hatred for him on here. He's never swaggered around like a Bendtner, or moaned about lack of opportunities. He's very unlucky with injuries, and for one will be very sad if it prevents a very gifted footballer from fulfilling his true potential

Has height, strength and an ability to power past people on midfield runs.
But as well as being frequently injured, he has a very inconsistent final ball when he needs to set up other people.
That can be learned, as Walcott, a natural shooter of the ball, has shown with his crossing, which did not come naturally to him.
In his current state of effectiveness, Diaby is worth very little to us.
I think the best thing is to loan him out for the rest of the season.
If, by some chance, he does amazingly, then have a think over the summer, but otherwise best to sell him.

Funny how people see things differently. I actually think its his ability to play the final ball that separates him from the others, as well as the points you mention in the first paraQuartzGooner wrote:Has height, strength and an ability to power past people on midfield runs.

The guy always looks for the killer ball and therefore the percentages are never going to be as high as someone like Song or Arteta who effectively clean up and distribute more simply. Abou is a creative genius. He can be our Le Tissier if he recovers his fitness

I share your concerns Mr Cook. We should be sorting a deal out that ties in Abou's peak years. In this instance a 5 year deal on c. £80k per week would be a good investmentTheCook wrote:Well I'm getting a bit worried that all this time out injured means his current deal is running down, and think that we should offer him a bumper new contract ASAP!
