Not keen on having to go to Zenit St Petersburg or CSKA Moscow though maybe Arshavin would be motivated at home.

They take into consideration the record over a 5 yr period while determining the coefficient ranking. So there is no immediate impact.

Apparently, Wenger was concerned that if Cieth, ManUre and Chavs got knocked out in the group stage, England may lose a champions league place. (well, that's according to my mate :? )

However, since Arsenal and Chelsea qualified, it hasn't been mentioned anywhere that I've noticed, so I guess we're ok.

You can almost put your house on basel getting drawn against the chavs or barca

If there is a tough draw out there we will get it so I suspect we will get napoli

I don't know how England could lose one of its four spots in the CL any time soon.

In UEFA's own published entry regulations we are officially ranked top nation going into this year's competition with Spain second and Italy third.

Spain also only have 2 clubs going through to the knockouts, Italy have 3 but two as runners-up.

Germany, France and Russia all get three entrants from their leagues. Germany have 2 clubs through, France and Russia have 2 also (both runners-up).

Providing us and the Chavs get to at least the QFs, surely we'll be OK to keep the 4 places. Hardly like the others are catching up? We've had a finalist in six of the last seven seasons too

Yeah, I noticed that the other nations don't seem to be catching us up, so unless UEFA impose a your're-not-English bonus to the other nations to knock us down a peg  then we're golden.... wouldn't surprise you if UEFA found a way though, would it? - perhaps we'll lose a place once the FFP criteria comes in due to Citeh and Chelsea, even though that'll effect Arsenal more than those 2. Wouldn't surprise me, though. This is UEFA after all.
