Jack Wilshere Returns

Who do you reckon will drop out when Jack returns?

I think it should be Ramsey.

Jack and Song in a more defensive role with Arteta in the creative role like he played at Everton?

Hopefully, Arsene will allow either Ramsey (he'll be a Great one day, you'll see) or Arteta to rest every once in a while with Jack taking either role. Which I assume was the plan to begin with.

Surely Song's position is not guaranteed? I would be tempted by Jack and Arteta deep with Ramsey forward. Although Ramsey does admittedly need to start pulling his finger out.

I really disagree with that.

Without Nasri and Cesc, Arsenal seriously lack creativity, so I'm not sure playing BOTH Wilshere and Arteta deep is a good idea.

For me (and Wenger, I'd imagine), it should be Arteta and Song sitting deep, with Wilshere given more freedom to get forward and create.

For me, Wilshere looked fantastic in pre-season, and I thought he might have raised his game to an entirely new level... but then he got injured :( - once he's back and firing on full cylinders again, I think he'll be the heartbeat of this side; creating chances and scoring goals from that 'Cesc role' that seems made for him 8)

I like Ramsey though, and in time I think Ramsey, Wilshere and a holding midfielder (Coquelin?) will be a really balanced midfield, with a decent mix of creativity, goals, energy and fight.

It will be Ramsey out and Wilshere in I'm fairly sure, cannot see Song or Arteta being dropped.

You only notice what players like Song and Arteta give the team when they aren't playing I think. Like Gilberto.

Still though I dont think Song and Arteta work well together in my opinion, in the roles they are being given. Think another player with pace would do better in there, until we buy one or give the younger lads a chance, then we won't know.

Has any player at Arsenal truely been given a role by the manager?

Surely Song can't have been given license to roam all over the pitch at will?

I for one can't see Wilshere playing as high up the pitch as Ramsey does. It's not really his game. He'll be more about linking the play from box to box. Getting it forward to Ramsey, playing the one two's and driving through from further back.

Arteta hasn't got the legs for that role anymore. He's more reliable defensively than Song, so it has to be Arteta/Wilshere with Ramsey further up.

But what it will be is Wilshere/Song with Ramsey at the point, cos Wenger's lost his fucking head.

Get Song out of the fucking side and let Arteta play deeper where he has been outstanding and disciplined. Ramsey will be better playing ahead of Arteta and with Wilshere's work rate

Song was desperate in the last 2 defeats to Fulham and Swansea - needs to realise he isn't guaranteed a spot in the side.

I also agree, but I think he's one of the first players on Wenger's team sheet :?

My hopes are pinned on Coquelin, because I can't see us signing a holding midfielder, and I can't see Song being dropped in favour of an Arteta/Ramsey/Wilshere midfield either.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Unfortunately, it's nailed on that Jack will have a calf or thigh strain within 2 games of coming back and be out for '2 to 3 weeks'. Pretty much guaranteed!

When Jack's fit I think Song and Jack will be definite starters. Then its a choice between Ramsey and Arteta.

Personally I'd play Arteta every time over Rambo. :)
