Gareth Bale - Confirmed Diver

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Even on 'their' forum there is enough older, well, more regular posters that know he dives and say they dont like it and wish he would cut it out. Much like some on here said about Eboue comedy capers.

Surely you only have to jump vertical to miss a tackle not go into a swallow type position ending in horizontal slide followed by twist to hold the ankle/shin/thigh furthest away from the non contact!

Cheating self censored. :cussing: :box:

OOooh. I found a swear word that doesnt get censored.

diggerdan wrote:Funny how since the Media "witch hunt" following Eduardo's fall against Celtic a few years ago ..the media now skate around this issue as good old Brits now dive .. including the prolific spring board champ Rooney ! the darling of the media !

there is only one answer trail by video and if no contact (weather a foul has been given or not and inside outside the area) .. 1 game ban for 1st offence ... 3 game ban for 2nd offence... 9 game ban for third offence... season ban for 4th offence ..life ban for 5th offence...

result no more diving
The treatment that Eduardo got was an absolute disgrace when you consider some of the stuff that has gone before and since. Don't forget Stevie G, another media darling, whose extendable leg always seems to spring out across a defender's boot before earning a 'clever penalty' - he's been doing it for years and getting away with it. Owen loved a tumble in the box too but doing it for Ing-er-lund against Argentina is acceptable

How many bloody times did we have to hear about Pires's tumble in the Invincibles year against Portsmouth as well - that was still being brought up by the juveniles that present TalkShite about 5 years later.

Bale has been one of the worst culprits this season but there are plenty of other candidates, Drogba and Gerrard especially, that have been up their old tricks for years
