1. He will never again have a season as good as he has had this year.
2. He will become an over bearing presence as Henry and Fabregas became in their pomp years. He will be seen as a 'franchise' player. Above all the others. Does not work in the the premier league. We need 5/6 players of equal stature. This is what we had when we were winning. We have the makings of a great core at the moment. Chesney, TV, Mert, Kos, Song (sometimes), Arteta, Sagna, Ros, AOC. RVP being elevated to a status that out weighs all these guys will only breed resentment. I will never forgive Henry for 'killing' Reyes'.
3. He should have had a hat trick against Everton. When the chips are down, i'd doubt him. He fucked up against Barca last year. He is not a winner. A big man for a small occasion. If he gets a massive contract from us he'll freewheel. No incentive, no hunger. He wants medels? Why doesn't he have any? Maybe he's not good enough!
I have said here before he would not lace the boots of Torres or Rooney. I still believe that.
Assuming that you truly believe what you posted there and you are not trying to wind up people, I'll like to point out there is so many things wrong with that post.
How does Mert, Ros, Song (sometimes) form a part of a great core? The jury is still out on Mert, Ros has had 4 good games now in 4 yrs (he is as likely to get crocked as RVP if not more) and Song is well Song, People rave about the assists he had provided this season, there should be a stat showing contribution made to an opposition goal. Song provides twice the number of assists to the opposition than to RVP or Theo.
Henry killed Reyes? He was doing rather well till the Neville neandherthals kicked the shit out of him.
The fact that RVP doesnt have medals to show means he is not good enough? You mean like the shit Fabregas who won nothing at Arsenal and have already won multiple trophies in a few months at Barca?
People are talking about "massive contracts" that will be offered to RVP. In truth it will be massive to our standards perhaps which isnt saying much. He will still be well behind some of the top earners in other clubs.
The only concern with RVP is his fitness, will he be able to stay fit like he has been for the last yr season after season.
Given his current form, I would say its worth taking the risk and giving him a contract a player of his quality deserves.
We give massive contracts to duds like Diaby, so why not take a risk with RVP. Also we shouldnt forget that he has been the best captain we have had since Viera left.
