He needs to be sold in the summer for 3 reasons.

1. He will never again have a season as good as he has had this year.

2. He will become an over bearing presence as Henry and Fabregas became in their pomp years. He will be seen as a 'franchise' player. Above all the others. Does not work in the the premier league. We need 5/6 players of equal stature. This is what we had when we were winning. We have the makings of a great core at the moment. Chesney, TV, Mert, Kos, Song (sometimes), Arteta, Sagna, Ros, AOC. RVP being elevated to a status that out weighs all these guys will only breed resentment. I will never forgive Henry for 'killing' Reyes'.

3. He should have had a hat trick against Everton. When the chips are down, i'd doubt him. He fucked up against Barca last year. He is not a winner. A big man for a small occasion. If he gets a massive contract from us he'll freewheel. No incentive, no hunger. He wants medels? Why doesn't he have any? Maybe he's not good enough!

I have said here before he would not lace the boots of Torres or Rooney. I still believe that.

Assuming that you truly believe what you posted there and you are not trying to wind up people, I'll like to point out there is so many things wrong with that post.

How does Mert, Ros, Song (sometimes) form a part of a great core? The jury is still out on Mert, Ros has had 4 good games now in 4 yrs (he is as likely to get crocked as RVP if not more) and Song is well Song, People rave about the assists he had provided this season, there should be a stat showing contribution made to an opposition goal. Song provides twice the number of assists to the opposition than to RVP or Theo.

Henry killed Reyes? He was doing rather well till the Neville neandherthals kicked the shit out of him.

The fact that RVP doesnt have medals to show means he is not good enough? You mean like the shit Fabregas who won nothing at Arsenal and have already won multiple trophies in a few months at Barca?

People are talking about "massive contracts" that will be offered to RVP. In truth it will be massive to our standards perhaps which isnt saying much. He will still be well behind some of the top earners in other clubs.

The only concern with RVP is his fitness, will he be able to stay fit like he has been for the last yr season after season.
Given his current form, I would say its worth taking the risk and giving him a contract a player of his quality deserves.
We give massive contracts to duds like Diaby, so why not take a risk with RVP. Also we shouldnt forget that he has been the best captain we have had since Viera left.

If its about winning titles and the CL then hes off. those saying Wenger will spend big this summer are living in cloud cuckoo land.Wenger will never spend £20m on a player. We are still miles away from a title winning team.As for us paying him £150k a week Citeh will give him £250k.I have said it all along if a club comes in with £30-40m for a player with one year left our board will sell

he does have a medal, he has an FA Cup medal.

he would have had a great season if it wasn't for injuries.

henry didn't kill reyes, reyes was shit.

fact number 4- '61 never again, 71, 04 8)

Henry absolutely killed reyes - at that time henry felt he was Arsenal and he wasnt going to share his limelight with anybody and he berated reyes at every opportunity until he killed his confidence

Henry's actions may have contributed a little bit augie but the truth is that Reyes - although talented - was a mummy's boy who was never mentally strong enough to make it in a tough league like the PL, where refs don't automatically give a free-kick when you get touched. He was a self-confessed 'mummy's boy' who probably never wanted to leave Spain in the first place and always seemed to me that he was reluctant to fully immerse himself in the way things are done here, unlike Cesc and some of our other foreign players at the time. The fact that he's hardly pulled up any trees since leaving us adds weight to the belief that he was - and still is - lacking something in his make-up to become the top player his talent should have led him to be.

I agree with augie, Henry just didn't the fact there was a new boy in town. I can remember one game where reyes set up the goal for henry then ran over with hands up to celebrate and Henry completely blanked him. At the time I thought you ignorant ****** celebrate with your teammate

He will stay, Im confident about that now it looks like we will be in the CL.

Podolski potentialy signing early shows that the club are trying to give him what he wants early so it can get sorted quickly.

If City fail to win the league then it will show him that going there doesn't guarantee medals and i think he likes this God like status.
