Song is the new Fabregas

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Steady on chaps ! Finding someone's posts pant-wettingly funny and being one and the same person is another altogether....

However, if at any point you here me talking about the pitch being too bumpy, setting up the Denilson fan club, and trying to buy a beer on a CL night.....then feel free to question me :D

I'm not alone there though Frank....have you read Simon Rose's glowing tribute to the Great Man in the latest Gooner - took the very words out of my mouth.

When he comes back fighting fit, he'll surpass all this Rosicky revival stuff 100x over and go on to be one of the finest Arsenal midfielders of all time. Honest !

Unfortunate thing is........ on this forum he gets the attention he so badly needs. Reminds me of Eboue - pretty s hit but elevated to cult status due to his s hitness. :banghead:

Give it a few years and Wenger will turn Oxlade-Chamberlain into an average player, as he has with so many other players with potential in recent times.

It was so obvious yesterday that all this recent praise of Song has got into his head. I have never seen a supposed holding midfielder try so many 'Hollywood' passes in one match. Yes, it was a fantastic run and cross against Dortmund at the Grove, and the assists against Everton and Villa - credit where its due - but first and foremost in difficult away games, his job is tol hold, break up play and distribute it simply. I don't want us trying dinky little chips off the outside of the boot when we're 1-1 and struggling to get a foothold. Still, if we have people 'bigging him up' as the new Zidane its only a matter of time before he starts believing it

Song is an average pile of s***e end of story. He wouldnt get into manure team. He wouldnt get into citeeh's team. Hell he wouldnt get into the scum's midfield. Tbh imo he wouldnt get into everton's or geordies midfield either   I am not sure which is worse - wenger about to give him a bumper new contract, the players bigging him up or the fans on here who continually see him as more than he is
We will never, and I mean never, win a league when players like song are considered 1st choice  :banghead:

It's funny, Song really is an enigma, as others have stated. He's capable of playing a perfect ball that lands on the tip of rvp or walcott's penis. But his defending consists of hip checking guys to get booked or putting his arms behind his back and shuffling from side to side. :|

Ask any Utd fan their opinion on Song, and they will tell you they'd take him in an instant. The problem is Wenger playing him as a dm, when he is actually one of the most creative midfielders in the premier league. Another defence splitting pass on Saturday, spurned by RVP.
Song would be the perfect example of "you don't know what you have until it's gone", I sincerely hope we don't have to lose him to finally appreciate him.

Really Sid? Really? Im amazed at how highly you rate him. He is an average player nothing special and certainly not outstanding. If we lose him i doubt it would make a major difference to anything at the club

I keep telling you lot that about Abou, but do you listen....eh? eh? do you ?

The game against QPR on Saturday was just about the perfect example of where Abou would have turned that into victory with one defence splitting, slide rule pass when others would take the sideways option (no names eh, Aaron Ramsey)

Sid surely to jesus you would agree that being a creative midfielder means more than 1 good pass every game ? His ball retention is absolute shit and gifts the ball to the opposition as much as he passes to his team-mates and if he was good in the tackle then he might be able to win the thing back but he is the worst tackler I have ever seen in midfield
Point No.2....would you class him as more creative then wilshire or rosicky then ? I mean if we are to continue playing 3 in the middle of the park then at least 1 player has to be a DM then I ask you would song get his place in the first 11 ? I know rosicky is only just back to something approaching his best but on his day he pisses all over song as a creative midfielder and wilshire would surely be an automatic choice so where does that leave the lazy cumbersome cameroon clown ? I would be ok keeping him as a squad player but as a first 11 player he symbolises everything that is wrong with modern day AFC......average

ps one of the most creative midfielders ?? You're having a laff

his through balls v QPR were pathetic , he's had success with those chipped balls against Everton and Liverpool but he's been trying to recreate it ever since. He's a decent passer but he is in no way creative , a couple of lucky lobs to RVP don't make a season .
