FAV ARSENAL MEMORY OF GAME YOU WERE AT
Re: FAV ARSENAL MEMORY OF GAME YOU WERE AT
If I had to pick 1 above the very many it would be Anelka scoring our 2nd in the 98 cup final. I never thought I'd see us win the double in my lifetime and that day was incredible especially on Upper Street that evening.

The '98 Cup final at Wembley. Three years before i had been in Paris after the scum player scored from the halfway line and that was the closest i had even been to tears over football. Then just 3 short years later we were Double winners
I was at the game v Everton too when we won the league and then the Cup Final which i had tickets in the Newcastle end to be fair the Geordies were fine. At the end i put my arm round my brother and reminded him about Paris. It was a great day

Avoid the Liverpool game please.Einar wrote:I laughed when I saw this thread![]()
Since i´m not English I haven´t had the luxury of attending many games, actually I´ve only attended 2. First was in 99/00 campaign at home against Liverpool , Arsenal lost 1-0 and I had to listen to the Liverpool supporters singing praises too Titi Kamara ( no idea if i´m spelling it correctly ) while walking to the train station.
The second game was away against Liverpool again, 06/07 campaign we lost 4-1( at least I saw an Arsenal goal although it came after we were 3-0 down)
as you can see I don´t have the greatest memories from the games themselves but just going to Highbury was something I´ll never forget .
I´m planning a third game next year so maybe I can finally see Arsenal win.

Arsenal 4 Ipswich 1....Highbury about 1995 i think!.Wrighty scored a very quick 2nd half hatrick and celebrated like only Wrighty could right in front of us...been to more high profile games but this was a great day and it really felt like the team and fans were all in it together..

I was going to say Fairs Cup Final 1970 since it was one hell of a night, and the first time I saw us win a trophy. Or WHL 1971 which was just amazing. BUT it has to be Wembley 1971
I walked out of Wembley minus one voice. And with a whacking great blood blister in the palm of my hand. It was emotional.

It's not just that we drive (or used to!) the same type of car; we've been at the same momentous matches too! What year were you born Olgit? how did you get home? Were you there for 2004? We had an interesting accompanied stroll through the flats then along an overpass - never enjoyed watching the police batter civilians so much...

Re: FAV ARSENAL MEMORY OF GAME YOU WERE AT
Funnily enough probably a toss up between two games this season - away at the Chavs 5-3 - what a match that was. Haven't seen us win there before, we lost 2-0 the last couple of seasons and this one was a long time coming, especially after our start to the season. Great result.
The other was the 5-2 against the scum. Having got all that jip at the swamp earlier this season, it was lovely to get one over on them finally. Especially coming from 2-0 down. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.

The old Jaguar has just gone to the big car park in the sky. Couldn't keep throwing money at it. I now own a chelsea tractor. Still got a nice lumpy three litre engine. And I can now get to work when it snows.
If you were a Norfbank Boy we may have met in the distant past.

I can't remember how I got home that night. Probably a mass march back down the Seven Sisters. No chance of an ambush because the swampies were scared of us in those days.highburyJD wrote:pretty jealous of that oneolgitgooner wrote:Or WHL 1971 which was just amazing.

Wasn't there in 2004. Needless to say I was glued to the telly. Brilliant.

l was at the swamp in 2004 and apart from the result and everything it meant one memory was having a drink with Shovel( namedrop, namedrop) another how quickly their their fans turned on their team, Lehmann throwing Keane into the net and their fans seemed to think they had stopped us winning the league there! Also at the end walking out the ground grinning like a Cheshire cat- it was a beautiful day l didn't care who knew it
