Ideal scenario is Pep replaces Pat Rice as our no.2 for next season works a year under AW gets a feel for the club and then replaces AW at the end of next season. He want a year out of the game so taking up the assistant role on top wages before taking over the main role is a dream scenario!

You serious? You really think Guardiola will be happy being number 2? We dont need anyone working under Wenger we need a total change from Wenger, a breath of fresh air in the club. Personally i dont want Guardiola but i dont want Wenger either

No he wasn't. His team and best player didn't play well but that doesn't mean he was tactically inept!!

Perhaps it's down to all the trophies he has won, the great team he built and the great players he's helped bring through? :rubchin: :rubchin:

Tell you what ppl like Flash are spot on about Pep. Overrated, what he does is easy! Winning 12 trophies? Piece of piss. Question is, can he win successive 4th place trophies??

Wenger fans often tell us what an impossible job AW has competing against these mega rich clubs (cos you see, that's the reason we get dicked on by QPR, Brum and 8-2). Pep has demolished Real over years - on the whole - despite Real being the world's richest club.

Can he fit Song and Diaby into a superteam though??

So easy being the first manager to make 5 consecutive CL semis eh?

Mind you, unlike Our Dear Leader, can he finish second in a group with Braga and Partizan, and get hammered 4-0 to a Milan team with a wage bill 25% lower than his teams?? Can he inherit a masterful back five and Dennis Bergkamp; then rebuild amazing teams that win nothing for 7 years? And can he rush past Go and collect 7 million in the process??

Nah. Pep is shit. Rijkaard inherited Xavi, Iniesta and Messi but was sacked for finishing 4th.
Mancini has more money than any manager in world football and a debt-riddled Manure will beat them to the league.
Chelski are loaded and have s ridiculous wage bill and funds, yet Newcastle are miles ahead of them.

Yep. Football is as simplistic as some simpletons here are claiming!

Example: a team with a wage bill of £125 million, should beat Birmingham, QPR, Wolves at home, and at the very least, have won 2-3 trophies over. 7 years. RIGHT??

If Di Matteo doesn't get the Russian's vote then Guardiola will be going to Chelsea. If not Chelsea then he can virtually take his pick of any available big jobs in Europe

Arsene Wenger is staying at Arsenal until at least 2014

And we all need to get used it, because Gazidis wouldn't have the first clue as to how he would replace him

The two years before he took over Barca won nothing. As many CL's as Fergie and Mourinho and they are great managers arent they?

If, and it is highly unlikely cos wenger would want one of his disciples to replace him ( ), but if the club had any serious intentions of replacing him with pep then it should be a "this summer or fcuk off" - if wenger is given another season to asset strip this club then pep or any top manager wouldnt set foot inside this club to manage the average crap left behind

People can rightly point to the players that pep inherited but it shouldnt be forgotten that he took over a team in decline, rejuvenated it playing some quality football plus, and this is a crucial part, he showed no respect for reputations as he bombed out a shit load of ego's that were simply not performing. I also like the way that he bought ibrahimovich, watched the lazy c**t stroll around the pitch for a season and realised that his lazy attitude and style of play were not compatible with what he wanted and got rid of him - I like a ruthless man like that who is not afraid to accept he made a mistake unlike our CIC who has signed so many donkeys but still hasnt the balls to offload

The only downside of Guardiola is that he doesn't seem the type that signs long term contracts, other then that, he'd be a great, great manager for us.

Ask yourself why Pep Guardiola would work for Kroenke Inc. and have chief chump Gazidis as a boss

He can earn the £6m to £7m at a team that want to win trophies as opposed to developing property.

When did i say anything about Wenger not inheriting a good core of players that set up the '98 double? I didnt - i made a comment about Guardiola never mentioned if Wenger did or didnt build a team. For the record he did build a team the one that won in 2004 but that shouldnt be a reason to give him endless seasons to give us nothing now. Wenger out but not Guardiola in

What a pointless debate anyway

The topic of conversation should be whether Wenger is leaving in 2014 or whether his contract will be extended. More realistic

Baba, it's probably a good post, but it would "scan better" (copyright IHH) without needlessly insulting your fellow forum members, even if it is your trademark.

It gives your well thought out posts a needlessly nasty edge that drowns out the rest of your post. In my opinion, anyway 8)

Anyway, just be thankful there are "simpletons" on this forum. They give you the free hits so you can knock 'em out the park!

Prior to him, Barcelona had won 2 La Ligas in 9 seasons. With him, they won 3 La Ligas in 3 seasons. His Champions League record is two semi-finals and two victories in 4 seasons.

One swallow doesn't make a summer. If he isn't a great manager, who is? Ferguson (Guardiola beat twice in European finals), Mourinho (Guardiola's El Clasico record against Mourinho is 5 wins, 4 draws, 2 defeats), Wenger (Guardiola knocked us out twice)? He's outdone them all. Here's a list of the best-paid managers:

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/the ... 30845.html

Tell us who's a great manager there. If Guardiola isn't a great manager, there are no great managers at all.
