Arsene Knows

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great football thinker and a proven manager over the last decade and a half.

However I believe his time is rapidly running out at Arsenal. Every team needs change once in a while. If you look at Barcelona, four years of Pep made them world beaters - but even his mighty impact was slowly starting to fade towards the end of this season. I have no doubt they'd be back amongst the top next year with him at the helm, but the point is the impact of a manager - no matter how good he (or she?) is - only lasts so long.

I think he would do well with new surroundings, on a national team level, after taking some time off and doing some football punditry for a while. I don't feel he has the desire or influence of the 96-era Wenger; not to say he doesn't have those two things, but it's definitely less so than years past.

I would love a "fire sale" and clear house, too many half hopers on big wages, get some hard working and ambitous players in and only pay each what they are worth to us not open market values
