Chesney a doubt for sunday - couldnt make it up

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I expect that Chesney will make it on Sunday.....but this is what it comes down to again i.e. a decent first team gets crocked and we all shit ourselves because the replacement options are total shite.

If RvP was a doubt we'd be sat here shitting ourselves that Maryanne or SQP had to carry the goal fight to West Brom

With Arteta and King Abou out we're left wondering if Ramsey can produce his first decent match in half a season.

With Walnutt out and the Ox suffering from 'Wenger burnout syndrome' after 8 games, we're sitting watching Gervinho - the man who saved us from 'dizzying prices' apparently

But, what do I know. I haven't worked half a day in football, so I should just be a good little chap and accept that Lord Wenger is always right and that we do indeed have three excellent goalkeepers, a very big squad and lots of super quality up front.

Frankly speaking, this game shouldn't be won or lost at the back anyway. Against Bromwich, we should be smacking in 3-4 goals and conceding maybe 1 at most.

Keyword "should" :?

Szczesny hasn't been as sharp in recent weeks and you have to wonder if this injury has been bothering him for a little while (a fact astutely mentioned by another poster) - maybe a fully healthy Flappy, with something to prove, could be better than Ches in this case? Not trying to RedWUM everyone, but Flappy has had some good games, especially before he got hurt and WS13 (then WS53) took over.

I would think the opposite barrie - if we are to win this game we will depend on a solid "thou shalt not pass" performance from our defence and keeper more than we will depend on anything else. In recent seasons our trademark in games like this is that we often control possession (to keep the stats guys happy  ) and then concede every time we put under pressure  It is a lack of backbone and determination that hurts this team more than anything else

no big loss, he's been inconsistent all season, just for the fact we have no one else, he has kept his place,

rather bring Seamo or Lehmann out of retirement, than see Fabianski trot out on to the pitch tomorrow

Am I the only one who thinks he might have been dropped?? We've seen these keeper "injuries" following a poor showing before...

Theo Walcott expected to have fitness test for Arsenal ahead of #WBA tomorrow. They need him. Wojciech Szczesny fully fit.

I think that, if he was dropped, the desperate screeches of the supporters everywere changed that
