Watched a little bit of the Ward match and have to say that although I wanted him to win because of his gooner connection, I wasn't that impressed with the quality of his game. Let's be honest here: if you're only World number one hundred and seventy something at the age of 25 then you're not really going to make it anywhere near to the top level. For feck sake, his opponent allegedly had heart surgery a month ago and he still couldn't beat him!!

didnt see alot of the ward match but was impressed with how he fought back at various times but like u say hleb fish only had heart surgery a month ago and yet maybe this is a lil harsh the guy is celebrated for losing such a loser mentality in my humble opinion. they wonder they britian neva gets any good tennis players, its quite simple they aint good enough

perhaps i was a lil harsh on him haha but i dont wanna come across all negative on the guy but ya know he's ranked what he is for a reason, if he can kick on from this and show improvement then in the bigger scheme of things its a massive success if not then ya know what does it really count for???

Not harsh or negative at all. It was an honest and frank opinion based on watching him play and the knowledge that at his age he's hardly ripped up any trees in the years he's been a pro. The fact he is a gooner, British and just played the game of his life - whilst losing in the second round of Wimbledon for feck's sake, which probably says it all - shouldn't cloud our judgement.
