Thought as much. Obviously putting names on tickets is just PR bull from organisers trying to show they are serious about tackling the touts

but would still worry that I'd either (a) buy a dud ticket or (b) get refused entry by some steward on a power trip.
Yeah you knwo the ones.......

Quartz.
The Albanian mother's walk the streets with young children in their arms, begging.
The men and young lads are breaking into people's homes via any window.
My neighbour was broken into three times in one week.
The men who were caught after breaking into another home were Albanian and Lithuanian.
The west end is awash with Albanian opportunist handbag thieves, and aggressive with it too. They have also been sleeping rough up at Marble Arch, which is on top of their rich picking grounds around the west end.
I have also just heard that the local residents have lost their appeal not to have weapons on their tower block in Leytonstone.
My house is below any fly past to Buck House, and also the stadium.
Perhaps I will see more fireworks thatn others eh?

Yeah there are beggars in the West End pulling a con trick.
They are elderly ladies, using a walking stick or hospital crutch, begging as they walk along Oxford Street.
I saw one and it seemed, odd, but then I saw others spaced out very couple of hundred yards or so.

Not terribly excited by the Olympics. To be honest I normally enjoy it and it's a good chance to cheer on British sportspeople without national/team bias playing a part, and it's an interesting spectacle, but I don't feel particularly connected to it just because it's in London. In fact I'm looking forward to it less than ever, not least because of the wealth of sport this summer (Wimbledon, back-to-back cricket series, Euros) and the annoying focus on the annoying entity that is 'Team GB'. I never have, and never will, support a Great Britain football team, especially not for a Mickey Mouse show event.
I don't care that there are events taking place across the UK, including football in my hometown Cardiff. The regeneration projects focus on London and the South-East, as do all of the economic benefits brought by hosting a major event. I'm not going to get 'Olympic fever' just because there are some token events that have been outsourced to other parts of the UK.
Frankly I think it's a complete waste of money, particularly given the typical London-centric developments whilst deprived regions such as Wales and the North East slide even further into economic depression.
Sorry to be such a miserable Celt.

Regarding the myth of the regeneration. It's all bollocks mate. Okay, so some local roads now have cycle lanes here, >snigger< and a few parks have been tarted up. A handful of shopkeepers have been granted £2,000 to replace their shop fronts, wel, that's about it mate. Most of those shops are off licences, nail bars, take away joints, bookies and corner shops.
The Games are in Newham, one of the poorest boroughs in the city. They are flanked by, Tower Hamlets and Hackney, the two poorest boroughs in London. There ain't no regeneration going on in those.
Hotels have abounded along Stratford Broadway to Bow bells at bow flyover.
My local high road businesses closed down due to the huge increases in rent and rates. Now each and everyone one of them have become Islamic learning centres, places to pray.
Regeneration my arse. We're losing local businesses and people who have an interest in our community.
This was all about the fucking corporates raking it in.
MacDonalds has a temporary joint in Stratford that seats 1,500. Westfield shopping centre was built for the olympics, not for the locals. I've been once and it was a nightmare, but it saves the Essex girls going up west for the designer names because they're all catered for under one roof here.
Most labourers, skilled or not, working on olympic sites are foreign. FACT
Most PCO licensed drivers are being draughted in from the home counties. FACT
Only the wealthy will get to see and enjoy the sports they choose to watch live. FACT
Stratford is a shit hole, and all the shit is being swept under the carpet, for the olympics.
When it is all over I shall witness West Ham move into the stadium. Those barrow boys knew what they were doing when they shipped in from Birmingham. They will sell their ground, if not to Tesco then it will become the firast mosque in the country to cater for 100,000 Muslims.
Btw. Cardiff and FA Cup finals were bloody magic. Cheers for that.

I'm really looking forward to the olympics, I always do, with the fact that it's in London is an added bonus. I enjoy watching real athletes at the top of their game trying to achieve lifetime goals, such a breath of fresh air from seeing greedy, lazy, jumped up little *word censored* playing football in the Premier League week in week out.

cant wait till its over. complete waste of money. even more numpties on the train and tube disrupting my commute to work meaning i have to work in our disaster recovery site in delightful romford....
athletics and 99% of olympic events (bar certain womesn events! and the 100m final) are dead boring and i have no interest in 'team gb' doing well, its meaningless, how can you get partisan about athletics, who cares if we win a gold in fencing or diving, i dont, yet masses of funding that could have been so better spent on these minority sports has been wasted on 'team gb'. likewise our taxes paying for the games themselves. the only interest is perving on the womens volleyball and seeing the ultimate human 'machine' in the 100m final. another thing is all the plastic brits under our flag of convenience, wrestlers, basketballers, mo farah.
complete and utter borefest and worst thing that could happen to everyday londoners in winning the games. paris are lauging at us. olympics is just a big jolly for city fathers and powers that be to congratulate themsleves. ordinary people get no benefit and pretty much every host has no legacy and it costs them billions which they dont ever get back, even thru games related income/tourism.
i dare say there will be a terrorist attack too.

As a venue Cardiff shits all over Wembley. For me the new Wembley is just a shit generic stadium with facilities far lower than top modern stadia, at least old Wembley was iconic and unique. The obvious problem is that for any fans travelling outside London that aren't getting a train in or don't fancy trying to park somewhere more central and have a few beers elsewhere before tubing it in, Wembley is a grey dump. No pubs, nowhere decent to eat, only option is to get greasy fast food from a comically named "Kentucky Fried Chicken" alternative and a some cans and drink outside. To be fair this wasn't too bad before the Chelsea semi-final but I remember thinking how shit it would have been if the weather was bad.
The Millennium Stadium is a good stadium, and is almost unique in a ground of its size in being bang in the middle of town. There's always a good atmosphere in the city for major sporting events and there are plenty of places to have a drink within a short walk of the ground. Cardiff Blues' decision to move out of the Arms Park (which backs on to the MS) to share with Cardiff City was baffling given the social attraction of the location and Friday night games, especially given that the CCS is within walking distance of nothing.
To be fair Cardiff is a brilliant place for sport as the major rugby, cricket and football games are all held in the middle of the city and the place is buzzing for big events. The '01 final was probably the best I found beforehand because I find you can have a bit of banter with the Scousers and the weather was amazing, although everybody walking round Cardiff with Freddie's red mohican was a sight to behold.
Plus a train into town instead of a 3+ hour car journey is a plus
