To quote somebody on one of the other threads (think it was sutch), gervinho is shit  He doesnt have the required brains or finishing ability to step up imo and you have to ask yourself where he will actually play in this team as I would assume podolski will be left wing and the ox (or walnut) will be right wing (if we sticking with same formation). For me he is an african feo.....head down and fcuk knows where he is going   :banghead:

I'd like to think jenkinson will step up cos sagna will be out for a while but I fear that too many fans have already written him off and I think that he will be more aware of that than any of the other players would be (given the fact that he is a Gooner) thus increasing the pressure on the guy and that is not fair considering how little experience he has at this level :(

I suppose it isnt a far out opinion to suggest that coquelin will be the guy that steps up the most - from the games I have seen him play I would suggest that he is a promising player although he will need game time to make that step up and I would still prefer we buy a proven quality tough DM and have coquelin as back up (selling song in those circumstances would be fine with me 8) ). I think that the fans already have high hopes so him being a good player this season wont be a surprise although that might be unfair on the kid.

For me comparing the transformation in kos last season to any of these players is wide of the mark - I thought in the first season that the guy showed enough flashes to suggest that he would be good enough once he adjusted to the pace and physicality of the english game. That he has (imo at least) overtaken tv5 as our most important centre half is a surprise for me though

Personally I would like to see ramsey go on loan to another premier league club (maybe fulham as part of a deal which would see dempsey joining us 8) ). He is another guy that has been written off by many and while he def did struggle last season I would still like to see him go and get regular football elsewhere to see if he can bounce back from his horrific injury

I agree.
More I think of who we could use, Dempsey appeals.
Premiership experienced, English speaker, used to living in London, able to play up front or just off a striker or even out wide if needed.

Too old.

I thought I wouldn't say that considering how we're used to seeing a nursery but with Arteta, Santos, Merty and a bunch of other recent signings, we aren't a young team anymore. I would prefer somebody in the age range of 23-26 who is absolute quality. Would absolutely LOVE Nuri Sahin. We need somebody who can keep the fecking ball. Again I can't believe i'm saying this.

I think Ramsey will have a better season, not amazing but a good season. Gervinho should also have a better season, though I am not sure he could be much worse.

There is too much pressure on Ox to be great, he will have a decent season but not the amazing season people hoped he will have.

Gervinho.

Ramsey will have another awful season, I don't think the lad has got what it takes to be a PL player unfortunately. He'll end up going back to Cardiff for no more than 2m

i went for OX and Jenkinson as I can see them getting more playing time.

I'd like to see Lansbury and Coquelin step up too - at 21 and 22, if they can't force their way onto the bench regularly they need to go. if you've not made it by 22, then your deadwood and in ahead of better kids probably imho.

i also have a sneaky feeling that forehead may start the season well. i thought last year, until the ANC he was okay in patches.

Not that he is going to suddenly be a world beater but I think jenkinson may turn out to be our most improved player

I am not voting for anyone.

there comes a point when suddenly you will find that there is nobody else able to step up because there are not enough top players around them. We are now at this point.

Much as I like Walcott the fact that he is now arguably our best player is somewhat worrying.

who are the 5 clowns who voted for Gervinho? remember that he got progressively worse last season.

I was often the voice of optimism last season but I can't find anything positive about the coming season at all as Kroenke continues his asset stripping approach to the club.
I will go to our (last) season of CL football but refuse to go to all other games. We have no hope of the title, no ambition to win the title and you are getting seriously ripped off for attending the best PL matches.

Your vote and opinion is of no interest if you seriously believe that Walcott is our best player.

If there was an ignore button it would now be pressed, shame really.

Will do, thanks Augie, he is clearly on a crusade which is now tiresome to read.
