As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Alex Ferguson - Pipped for the title at last minute on goal difference. What does he do - goes out and buys the best striker in the Prem. Heard him during the week, said something like "We were beaten on goel difference. That will NEVER happen again. Trust me"
Arsene Wenger - Wins Feck all for near a decade. Happy to sit on his £6-7 mill pay packet. Doesn't do defence. Doesent do tactics. Failed failed failed miserably with his "project". Absolutely NO ambition to win trophys. Happy to finish top four every season. Happy to insult the fans.
Shit team of yes men around him. Shit medical team
Are they really that strong? Are they much better than us?
Put Wenker in charge of Man U and put Fergie in charge of us. Then we'd be strong.
Untill we get rid of Wenger we are shit - bring in Messi, Xavi, Ronaldo - under Wenger we are shit.
The most important man at any club is the manager and Fergie pisses all over our clueless manager.United reflect their manager we reflect ours.Fergie has made some dodgy signings in his time but quickly gets them out the door.We give our shite long term contracts ie Djourou. So yes of course they are strong much stronger

I know mate. Sorry.
Its difficult not to bite when you get so obviously trolled.
I'll take my own advice and try harder not to feed them.

Agreed.
I've deleted about 7 posts by jd and armchair in this thread, as it had taken over the thread.

Vidic has only just come back from injury while Rafael, Evra and De Gea have all been shaky, makes sign Robin even more bizarre.
I dont see RVP going to them as bizarre at all. Fergie was stung VERY badly by losing the title to the blue Mancs on goal diff. Its typical Fergie - identify a problem, ie: - nearest rivals score more than us, then fix it by buying the best striker in the prem. Also stops RVP going to them. Fergie wants to win not come second or lower.
They only lost on goal diff. Even with their shaky/ageing midfield and transitional defence. RVP could make the difference for them. Small margins.
Goal difference is not just about scoring goals, its about conceding them too, if he neglected his problem areas like he has done then it don't matter if they score 100 goals if they let it more
because they neglected their weaker areas.
I'm sure most United fans would have wanted those areas addressed first, its not like their strikers are all Heskeys.
G88ner this unacceptable I get deleted
yet hating virtually everybody at Arsenal as this plum obviously does
and BS like

is allowed to stand???
I'm supposed to accept my self defence being deleted yet insane nonsense (Fergie would sign Messi as Arsenal manager) and abuse (JD stop WUMing) remains

True and I agree that there are other areas that they needed addressing before strikers but its a typical Fergie reaction. A reaction that strenghtens them but also sends Shitty a message.
They are miles ahead of us - and its the manager who makes the difference.
RVP was their marquee signing. The Prems biggest transfer. It puts Manure up there in the headlines again, takes the limelight off Shitty, a bold move, shows intent, ambition.
It was a trophy signing, nothing more, nothing less.
In the long run it could bite them hard.
If City buy a few defenders they have countered it while United will pray every day that their 71m investment doesn't get injured, that money has gone and City can easily counter it.
They've got Tevez back, that's a 30m striker in itself, Mancini can easily make that move for van Persie look a very stupid one by United.
