Ticketing Rip Off
Re: Ticketing Rip Off
In the upper tier does anybody know at what point in the block does 'centre upper' become 'centre upper back'?
as there is a 25% mark up for the former which is harsh especially for a cat A game where the difference of 1 row
will cost an extra £30.
I did ask a steward last week but he looked at me as if I was speaking Japanese. Probably a question for the ticket
office but I thought as we're on topic.....

Re: Ticketing Rip Off
Ticket prices across the league are a joke. The cost of season tickets at Arsenal must have led to a fuck load of dedicated gooners no longer being able to watch their club every home game and that's a disgrace. Equally I feel sorry for those who go away from home, its expensive enough when supporting a club who are "category C" pretty much everywhere we go, following one of the big clubs and paying the highest prices at every ground isn't fair.
Trouble is I think the time for campaigning, protesting and generally kicking up a fuss has come and gone. When prices started to rise dramatically above inflation people should have been straight onto it (as they have been in Germany for example) but English fans have been too happy just to accept it (and to be fair they've had no support from outside sources since their reputation had been tarnished so much with the hooliganism problems and the Hillsborough disaster). By now the "cleansing" of support is almost complete, games still sell out a lot of the time and if people will pay then the prices will continue to be charged but its not the same people paying, they've got rid of many of the old school fans and replaced a lot of them with well off plastics who will be happy to pay through the nose, buy the tacky, shit, overpriced merchandise and munch on a £5 pie. Any real protests about ticket prices would have to be done outwith the stadium because there's fuck all chance that the majority of the wankers who attend nowadays would kick up a fuss

Re: Ticketing Rip Off
it's very sad how much we get charged.
they really don't give a shit about us in the slightest.
the fans mean fuck all. the atmosphere means fuck all. fact. anything redaction does and anyone else is USELESS at those prices.
get prices down to a normal level for 90minutes of football in the cold/rain and we're talking.

I remember how Arsenal dressed the stadium move up as something noble ... saying how they were turning away thousands who wanted to watch us play and therfore they needed a bigger ground to accomodate everyone. They then went ahead and priced most of those fans they pretended to care about out of going on a regular basis.
If the Emirates had resulted in a reduction in prices, more affordable to the average supported then it might have been easier to accept but personally I see the whole thing as a giant con.
