wilshere and cesc are different players in many ways.

he is as close as we have to a hometown hero and the only player who wants to win every single game we play. the only one who feels the pain in his heart of every defeat. he is as close to one of us on the pitch as we are likely to get and I for one think he will be world class in 3-4 years.

Sorry to rain on the Willshire parade but that's how I see it.

Dunno sid. Wilshere is surrounded by more dross than Cesc ever was mate.

I agree with this - it is impossible to compare the two players cos they were playing in teams at totally opposite ends of the scale and while I do agree that cesc was probably a better player at this age, I still believe wilshire to be a great great talent
Fuck sake lads, his name is spelt wrong 3 times out of 4 here, his name is Wilshere, I've spoken to you once before on this Augie

Disagree that Jack is massively inferior to Cesc. I'm very much against hyping up youngsters but when we played Barca a couple of years back with both in the team, Jack was the only one who was able to resist the Barca players pressure and still find his passes. Cesc wilted in that game whereas Wilshere looked like the one who would fit in with them. Fabregas may be a slightly more all round player at the moment but people forget that until his last couple of seasons with us he didn't score that many (something being talked about Jack at the moment as something lacking).

Current formation doesn't really suit Jack. He's a box to box type player.

It was only really 2007 when Cesc started getting end product. Jack is a real talent. I dont think he's overrated at all. He's come back froma very serious injury, in a shite squad and without a pre season. Ramsey on the other hand :rubchin:

Agree with this and I remember the barca midfield coulfn't wait to shake his hand after the game and obviously had great respect for him, I think everyone is forgetting that had he not been out with a serious injury for over a year he would be even better than he is now.

I thought cesc was a very overrated player tbf and I think we miss song too so what do i know

I'm going against the grain here but apart from one moment where he gave the ball away in a dangerous area, Ramsey played well yesterday :|

nobody would think as lowly of him as they do if he was played in his normal position rather than a left winger! he is a decent CM just needs to be played there.

To be fair Ramsey has had a couple of decent cameos off the bench. I will qualify this by saying that he's still nowhere near good enough to be a part of an AFC squad. But things are always going to be worse when he's starting off-form week-in, week-out against City, Chelsea etc (especially out of position). I'm not happy to see him coming off the bench but he can actually have a useful impact at times.

I'm a bit of a romantic, so I believe him when he says he'll stay at Arsenal forever.

I hope you are right because he is the only player we have now with any heart in the jersey.

I have claimed for some time that Jack should wear the armband and he proved it again against Chelsea, but then Wenger would only sell him like every other captain.

Wenger has to take the blame for setting a team up in such a 'who gives a fuck' attitude :banghead:
