Emirates Cup 2013/Galatasary and Trouble at Overseas Games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wouldn't surprise me if AFC hand-picked "lesser" teams to give us a better chance of winning the thing & lift the mood amongst the sheep. Mind you, we were supposed to steam-roller Boca & NYRB, look how that turned out

I cannot think of many things I'd rather not do more than attend an Emirates Cup fixture.

That has got to be the worst line up for any pre-season tournament being held anywhere in the fucking world. Are the club seriously going to insult the fans with this fucking dross. :banghead:

It'll be whoever Emirates sponsor and tell the club they want to perform in it plus one other grade D club from North or South America.

Great for the tourists - it will sell out and our latest lime green and pink spotted away kit will sell out in the Armoury

Should invite Bradford, Swansea and Hull City. Give us a real test.

It was meant to be them but we couldn't secure teams of their calibre.

I see a few replies saying "well at least we'll win a trophy" but the defending champions are the New York Red Bulls! :banghead:

As far as I remember, it was said in Cologne's papers that part of the the Podolski deal was a couple of millions of transfer fee plus the money generated from two friendlies Cologne vs Arsenal.
If Arsenal want to avoid going to Cologne for a 3rd time in a row for a pre-season friendly, they might invite Cologne to take part in the famous Emirates Cup
