Wojciech Szczesny.. what has Gerry Peyton done?

Favourite Mad Jens moment must be at home to Portsmouth early on in his first season when Sheringham went through but was flagged offside, Lehmann saw this and dived in with a pretty awful challenge on the prick with no attempt to get the ball and then acted surprised when he saw the lino's flag. Also watching him lay Scott Parker out for having the temerity to try and challenge a bouncing ball gets better every time you watch it.

Also of course a hero for being class in the Invincibles season and for being the single reason why it's 8 years without a trophy and not 9.

Always hated seeing him interviewed though, suited the headcase persona more than the articulate intellectual.
Most of the better keepers are a bit crazy....... but Jens takes some beating!

On today's showing the answer is...made a decent goalkeeper go backwards...Weiman's goal would not have happened to the Chesney that came back from Brentford 2 seasons ago.

Are we really blaming the goalkeeping coach for Szczesny making a shocking error like that? Szczesny hasn't profited from the lack of competition for his place but this in no way fully excuses him - plenty of keepers are near undroppable but don't fuck around like he does, his attitude stinks.

I had high hopes for Szczesny when he first came into the team after years of Almunia and Flappy. But he started to believe his own hype.Just taking over from those two clowns doesnt make you a good keeper

But the real person to blame is Wenger. We needed to bring in an experienced keeper to bring Szczesny along. But the tight :censored: wouldnt pay another £1m for Schwartzer. We could have got Friedel for free.So Szczesny is training with Flappy and Mannone.Any wonder he makes so many mistakes with those two about

Get a decent goalkeeper like Lloris or Begovic.

Not sure about Peyton teaching him to try to do Johann Cruff impressions in the area and almost get caught out against Liverpool this year. I wanted to reach out and strangle him.

In any other team, he'd be dropped, but considering the alternatives....

By the way - what has happened to Fabianski? The guy was 1st choice then got injured (funnily enough by Chesney) and I think that we saw him in one other game, but not since. Is he still injured or does Le Dipshit think that Mannone is better?

"By the way - what has happened to Fabianski?"

Spurs defeat Arsenal 4-2 in RESERVE game
Lukasz Fabianski was the notable name on the team sheet for Arsenal

Found his level imo.

Cheer for that. Flaps at crosses, but I think that every goalkeeper here does. Good reflexes though.

Too true frank - he was abysmal ................The Crazy Kraut offered to do some coaching with all the young goalies, and wenker in his wisdom (NOTTTT!) turned him down...he might have been mad but he knew how to command His Area and took no prisoners!.. shzezney knows there are no other contenders and so has lost the edge he used to have...he has definitely regressed the past 18 months.....

We need someone like Given to give him a kick up the arse or someone like Vorm who is a far better keeper.

I actually meant to say Vorm not Michu

But Michu was catching my eye in the corner

Michu is probably £15m, out of our imaginary budget range.
