I disagree, action (within the law that is) by protest, voice, banners etc is always more likely to grab the medias attention, not buying merchandise ie the effect gets 'hidden' this can be covered up ie not declaring to the world 'drop in sales' - not buying merchandise etc is a 'cop out' IMO for those who don't want to get involved in voicing / airing their frustrations and disappointment with the club....blocknineteen wrote:Waving banners will not hurt the club or make them make changes. The are interested in thing and that's money. If genuine gooners stop buying official merchandise, crap beer and food at matches as a sign off enough is enough, changes may happen sooner than you think. Unfortunately, the corporate and tourist visitors to the ground would not care less....

Agree but it's just not realistic to expect to make something like that happen.blocknineteen wrote:Waving banners will not hurt the club or make them make changes. Beauty of a banner is it just takes a couple of blokes and the effect can be massive. The media will jump all over it - especially given that we play Spurs two days before the window shuts.

Wenger: Hero or Nero??
Re: Banners for first home game
Why not say nothing, not a thing, silence is golden, not a chant, not a cheer,
Or every one turn their backs on the game and say nothing.
Sixty thousand fans sitting there in silence or standing up backs to the game.
We can even wear masks on the back of our heads, like tragedy masks with tears.

But how will people then notice that it's a 'protest' and not just that the game has started?George71 wrote:Why not say nothing, not a thing, silence is golden, not a chant, not a cheer,....

Either that or C-3PO's having the mother of all orgasms. Not sure what Freud would make of that protest.g88ner wrote:

Recycling my previous ideas
Buy Buy, or (it's) Bye Bye
It's a good buy from him, or it's a goodbye from us
Still like my black bin liner idea.

Have I missed something or is there a reason why IrishJB cannot hold these banners up himself?
