Re: Chavs (H) in the thingy cup
Given the choice I'd rather win the Rumbelows/Milk/Carling Cup than not, but I'm really not that bothered. Winning this competition wouldn't make up for the last seven years or make me feel like we were back on the trophy trail.
Therefore I'd rather play the kit man and the tea lady (that's gotta be sexist) than risk a first teamer.

Chelsea's bench / second string is far superior to ours so I'm expecting one half of our chance to win a trophy to be over come 10pm
Some of the attitude's above astound me - people have obviously forgotten about or barely care about the feeling of winning an actual piece of silverware and the satisfaction of a great day at Wembley

Couldn't give a flying duck about this competition; it shouldn't exist as far as I'm concerned.
I'd rather we won the Emirates Cup.

I'd say so too - if we start the game with only 10 men we'll be fuckedOneBardGooner wrote:.........................................Flappy...........................................

I agree with your point though, I want us to go for the cups. Ironically when we were at our shittest a couple of years ago we looked most likely to win a pot. We all know what happened but at least we took the competition seriously albeit we had a kind draw after the first couple of rounds

So, a home made self gratification ***** trophy that was invented purely for the sole purpose of making yet even more money from Arsenal fans?

SteveO Its not the fans who have forgetten what its like to win a trophy or a trip to Wembley its the manager and the board who have put the prority of finishing 4th in front of a trophy. If they cant be bothered why should weSteveO 35 wrote:Chelsea's bench / second string is far superior to ours so I'm expecting one half of our chance to win a trophy to be over come 10pm

When people say they'd rather win the corporate pre-season cup over the League Cup, I suppose its time to really call it a daydonaldo wrote:SteveO Its not the fans who have forgetten what its like to win a trophy or a trip to Wembley its the manager and the board who have put the prority of finishing 4th in front of a trophy. If they cant be bothered why should weSteveO 35 wrote:Chelsea's bench / second string is far superior to ours so I'm expecting one half of our chance to win a trophy to be over come 10pm

I think probably Chelski will ring changes as they play City later today?Dan_85 wrote:Wholesale changes, we're going out. No doubt about it.
That's the possibility, but we should aim to get through this round, with a reasonable second string XI....

Re: Chavs (H) in the thingy cup
I say just rest our players and hope for the best. With UTD, City and Spurs being near certain to win there ties I don't think its worth perusing the cup.
Re: Chavs (H) in the thingy cup
Yeah but even with starting ???? there's still only 10 players!! I can see why you want to rest some players but that's taking it too far.OneBardGooner wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:I'd say so too - if we start the game with only 10 men we'll be fuckedOneBardGooner wrote:.........................................Flappy...........................................

What is this Wem-ber-lee that you speak of ?
Surely all major cup competitions are concluded in Cardiff ?
