As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Maybe if Celtic draw Liverpool yeah. Not if Aberdeen draw Brighton.
I'm slightly intrigued by the idea of an JPT/Masters type format whereby clubs are grouped together by region at first (tbh the League Cup makes for pretty dire viewing unless we're playing a big team so increased chance of City/Liverpool/United/Everton and us/Spurs/Chelsea meeting the more entertaining) before coming together at a later stage but this would have its drawbacks and I think the novelty would wear off after a few years.
Tbh I don't think there's a problem with the format of the League Cup - it's just as a distant fourth priority to the big clubs it's always going to struggle to captivate.

It has certainly been a good experience for some of our promising youngsters going back many years (Cesc becoming our youngest goalscorer) a 6-3 win at Anfield, beating the spuds at the Lane, etc,
So although it counts for little in the great scheme of things I am happy to let it be the place where Eisfield, Gnarby etc get to learn what representing Arsenal means before they get thrown into premiership action on a full time basis.
I love this competition and hate how it has been demeaned so much over recent years by the obsession of money over glory.
One certain way to revamp the league cup would be to give the winners a CL place instead of rewarding failure by letting a team that finishes 4th in a league qualify. Same for the FA Cup winners of course, who would take the place of the 3rd placed league team.
Then the likes of Wenger would take the competition seriously. He would obviously hate the idea ... which is one more reason why I would do it (anything to encourage him to piss off). And if that means the likes of Swansea and Wigan being in the CL so be it - doubt that would happen under these circumstances though.
