Brady's left peg wrote:Not sure where to post this as its both game and footie related ( Mods feel free to move ). My eldest is always playing FIFA, personally I think it's a load of shit but that may well be due to the 30 year age gap! He was telling me tonight about FIFA14 ultimate team legends, Pele, Maldini, Van Basten, Figo and Bergkamp I can accept but Sheringham, Owen, Lineker, Zola and Shevchenko.

Do me a favour.... To coin a John W Henry phrase, what are EA Sports smoking over there?
Apparently to be listed they must not be still playing or in a managerial position.
Just a few names that spring to my mind that are missing... Moore, Charlton, Cruyf, Hirst, Schmeichel, Best and Zico, no doubt their are dozens more. On they up side there does seem to be a lot of ex Gooners in there.

Christ - Sheringham, Owen, Lineker, and Shevchenko??!!

Legends my fucking hairy hole.
Zola maybe.

He was a class player. Okay, Owen won the Ballon d'Or but I think even he was fucking shocked!

Not got much time for it these days but enjoyed the Fight Night Boxing games on the PS2, also RTL Skijumping (with odd commentary) and the Ace Combat:Distant Thunder fighter jet combat game.

Fight night has got progressively worse, one of those games that the more accurate it gets the more it loses it's playability

I think the last games I played were the Lara Croft ones on the first playstation.
I don't think I could keep up with the multiple controls etc. these days. Also, I never seem to have the time to play them any more.
My all time favourite though still has to be 'Defender'. I spent many a night in the Nags Head playing that on one of the old table style machines, drinking cheap lager and getting pissed. School the next day was always a struggle.
I have heard though, and keep this to yourselves because he wouldn't want it to get out, that Flash is a bit of a Gameboy

Percy Dalton reckoned his nuts were salty. Literally.
Defender was quality.

He had a "spat" of epic proportions with M50 (who was a mod at the time). Mike banned Steve and M50 resigned as a mod and also promptly disappeared. I'm hoping Steve didn't "off" him....
Haven't found him lurking back on here... yet...

Friend of mine got booted into the "bad sports" server for a week or so, he made it his mission to kill as many human players as possible then try to sell their cars, when they didn't sell (as you can't sell another players motor) he blew them up with his tank

Your mate is the notorious "Tank Griefer"??!!

He's a very naughty boy!

Yep, he's taken to sitting under one of the bridges and calling the police...then the games begin...

Is his online ID "Spartan" and some numbers? Like "Spartan17" or "Spartan178" or something like that? Because if it is will you tell him it was me that blew up his tank with a couple sticky bombs outside the drug dealer (Gerald??) gaff. Fucker had me penned in firing away with his main gun and I lobbed out a couple sticky bombs and exploded him to living fuck. So he is technically now my beeyatch.
I even took a couple nice selfies of me posing in front of his burning tank.

Programme tonight on Channel 4,9 pm,"How videogames changed the World." Could be a nostalgic trip down your virtual Memory Lane.

PC gamer here. consoles are for little girls

play football manager, baldurs gate, some FPS (crysis, far cry and the alike, which by the way are much better played with a mouse than a console controller) and the mild RPG every now and then. used to love adventure games too (first alone in the dark games, phantasmagoria, gabriel knight, etc)
i did have a couple of consoles in the past: atari (pitfall and enduro anyone?), dynavision 3, super nes, nintendo 64... then i grew up
(obviously in terms of age and lack of playing time, not stature)

Lol!
Personally I've never been into PC gaming as it's a constant exercise of piling money into upgrading hardware....can easily piss away thousands
