As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Received my tickets for this match through the post this morning so im looking to see where everyone will be drinking pre match.
We are driving to the city centre and leaving the car there for the day and then looking for a few hours of drinking before walking to the ground.
Near the station there is 'the great western', 'walkabout' and 'prince of wales' which is a wetherspoons.
The wales v Australia rugby is on at the millennium stadium at 5pm so I expect the city centre to be pretty busy all day.
Would be good to find out where groups of gooners will be drinking before the match as I cant find any details about a designated away pub.
Please help so then I can find somewhere close to park for the day.
Thanks
Matt
Watch your back mate if walking. Aint the best of places around Ninian, especially for those of us from the smoke and English too...................................
I am cultivating my welsh accent innit boyo
I remember when I was in west wales on holiday as a 16yr old. Some local lads came up to us and asked where you boys from them? my reply Bristol-- his reply "thats nice innit" followed by a punch to the head and a good kicking!
It didnt stop me marrying my welsh wife though!
But why would her brother do that to his future brother-in-law????

Everton (h) draw
Napoli (a) lose
Man City (a) lose
Chelsea (h) errr....I wonder let me think for a second.....Mourinho v Wenger.....oh yeah, lose
And after that we've got West Ham (a) and Newcastle (a) back-to-back

Very tough fixtures.
We'll beat the Hammers and the Barcodes.....the chorus of There's Only One will only temporarily disappear but will be sung all over Christmas !
SteveO-35's desperate for the next defeat, he can't hold on much longer folks. The lifeblood of his forum existence is slowly being poisoned with all these points we keep racking up.
There's just nothing interesting to talk about when Arsenal win

I do feel this place is overly negative, we have been remarkably consistent for months now, and on occasion played very well, but tbf I still don't think we've seen enough this season to prove doubters wrong-the defeat at OT and against Chelsea being case in point
I for one am very happy with the way the season has gone so far but still have my doubts and think its very unlikely we will be challenging for title at end of the season.
I think your quote above highlights this-SteveO may well be a negative soul but the truth is he predictive nearly every single one of our victories! (I think all except Dortmund away)

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing us win actually, and if you read my posts after the wins against Dortmund, Saints etc you'll know that's true
What I refuse to do is get overly carried away because I saw the same old faults at Old Trafford and against Chelsea and knowing that we still have Everton, City and Chelsea to play pre-Xmas, things could turn quickly. That isn't a hope, but I am kind of expecting it. I will be completely fucked off to high heaven if it does happen but sadly in a world of Wenger vs Mourinho there's only ever been one winner and I simply don't see that changing

Ultimately the reason why there is such a deep and fierce divide in the fanbase is because Groundhog Season means people become entrenched in their views.
For those that are staunch Wengerites there are always a few dazzling runs of form, a handful of satisfying home victories, group stage qualification and the 4th placed finish with the promise that next year we won't be held back by Nasri + Fabregas going/van Judas going/failure to sign a striker. For those that are firmly anti-Wenger there is always the inevitable limp-dicked defeat at Old Trafford and cowardly performances at probably two of Etihad/Stamford Bridge/WHL, the dicking in the CL knockout, the FA Cup disappointment and the inevitable (largely avoidable) fuck-up that occurs every summer.
Smaller clubs that produce big performances against United inevitably fail in the next game, and I'm firmly behind the 1-0 to the Arsenal scoreline.....might even have a bob or two on it.
Wenger's new contract which apparently now will be signed in January may well have to have an extra year or two added to it after we beat these and Hull in quick succession and open up an even bigger lead at the top of the league
Sadly I really do think that despite all that the three tough league games prior to Christmas after Napoli will see us fall away. That isn't just being a miserable git, its based on past experience and also knowing that Giroud in particular but also the centre halves and Sagna will at some point need a break and their replacements are either non existant or not in form.
Of course, a progressive club would take this start to the season and realise that the addition of a world class striker in the window could be the difference between 4th and 1st, whilst a 'run for one man's benefit' club will breathe a huge sigh of relief that CL qualification looks inevitable and therefore the need to invest has been reduced even further. Which is it to be ?

Spot on summary mate. Wish those in control would understand that.
Anyone have a map of the ground, the pic on the city website seems to be down

Not much point on me posting on this forum ever again, nail on the head. We all know where we're going here, seen it all before.

Im glad Im not you barman mates, your glasses are never anything but half empty
Things are surely a tad different this season, the defense at long long last has a bit of spine in them, we have bounced back in matches after defeats against Dortmand and Manure. The spirit in the team too seems MILES better than for ages as well.
We all (well just about all) agree on a lack of strikers, but for me this is the best team we have had for a while, pass me a half full galss hic hic
