[quote="MrT"]What does Podolski have to do to get a game? He's got to start this one and give the French powderpuff a break.

The Geordies were chanting "Hartem Ben Arfa" what did Pardew do? Send him on. The Gooners were chanting Lucas Podolski what did Wenga do? .................Fuck All

Thats good if our manager caved in to fans pressure when singing a song about a player on the bench i would be very worried.

The game yesterday didnt need Podolski.

2-0 to the Arse, Cazorla and Jack

Why don't we take it a step further and put all substitute decisions up to the popular vote? Each supporter can be issued with an electronic voting device upon entry to the stadium and then in the 70th minute, as is customary, you'll be asked to choose who should replace who.

The manager is in charge of the team, therefore it's the manager who picks the substitutes. Whether or not you agree with his tactical changes is one thing, but advocating a system whereby you think we should be changing the team around based on a few chants is just silly.

Besides, the Newcastle fans were only chanting Ben Arfa's name because he's by far their most potent attacking threat and they were surprised to see him left out of the starting 11.

Anyway for the Cardiff game I'd opt for Bendtner up front flanked by Podolski and Walcott. Give Cazorla a rest for Saturday and go for a middle 3 of Rosicky, Wilshere and Flamini once again.

I wouldn't have Bendtner in the squad let alone play him. We'd be better off with your Granny or next door's cat up front!

If we wanted to rest Giroud I'd be tempted to put Theo up top and Gnabry out wide. I'd also start with Pod and sub him when he gets tired.
I'd like to see Santi given another go in the middle. Jack has been well below par this season and was anonymous against Newcastle, but Cardiff might be a good game to give him another go (with a rocket up his arse). Arteta or Flamini can hold.

I really hope we can stroll this one and keep everyone fit for the Scum.

why Gnabry out right ?

not picking on you at all Joe, but i do wonder whats wrong with the old 2 men up front - CF and Inside Right or Inside Right and Inside Left ?

it would seem to be that either with the long ball over the top (big man to little man knock downs) or our tikka takka play, or even god forbid the return of wing back play, its better to have two causing trouble in the box, rather than one out wide and one in the middle.

can anyone enlighten me ? - is it just a fashion inherited from Europe ? - i can't help thinking it would address England's lack of goals too - remember Shearer and Sutton, Shearer and Sheringh*m, Anelka and Bergkamp etc.

I've watched Germany and the US play recently, and they are a bugger to play against - both have two men up through the middle and if they can't make a chance THEN they hold it up or play it back and involve the midfield.

they also take turns to drop deep which means they are tougher to pick up and that leads to confusion, space and mistakes.

having just one striker is a limitation imho - its based round having one amazing striker like Battistuta, Papin, Totti, De Piero, Baggio, Klinnsmann (in his heydey) to win you very tight games.

so i'd like to see Pod and Theo start up front, or Pod and Gnabry...

#afc Wenger says 'plenty of injury problems.' Ramsey, Ozil out. Giroud out. Walcott, Rosicky doubtful. Vermaelen, Monreal doubtful - ill

If he starts Barry Bender up front ahead of Podolski I will repeatedly punch myself in the head until I no longer care what he does ever again :banghead:

Seems as if we have lots of injuries, based on who appears to be fit at this stage I think we will be:

----------------------Szczesny-------------------

Sagna-----Mertesacker--------Koscielny--------Monreal

-------------Flamini-----------Arteta-----------------

Gnabry------------Cazorla---------Podolski-----------

---------------------Bendtner----------------

Bench: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Hayden, Frimpong, Miyaichi, Park.
