FULHAM HOME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's a while since we gave anyone a spanking and I'd like to think we could put 4 or 5 past them, but they often cause us problems and I'd settle for 2-0.

Heart says we will pillage and rape on a scale not seen since since the Moors took a fancy to Sicily and win 6-0, but head says we will only win 2-0 because we is all gone a bit tippy tappy an' ting init.

I think the old cliché “winning despite not playing well” could not be any more appropriate in describing our current situation. This may well prove to be the case once again against Fulham, but unless our performances improve and we are more clinical with our finishing, then we are going to come a cropper very soon. But not here 2-0

It's also a mentality thing - last night we could have beaten villa by a shed load of goals (they are proper shit) but we got arrogant and decided that 2-0 was enough  That might work out in continental Europe but in England most teams never give up and that is especially true for teams fighting relegation and we have got to realise that we are not good enough to coast for the last 45 minutes and that teams are not scared enough of us to allow us to coast. We need to develop a ruthless mentality and learn that by scoring another couple of goals in games like last night, it not only finishes villa off but also sends a warning to other opponents in upcoming games so instead of the media just talking up citeeh's scoring prowess they will also talk up our ability to score at will

Seriously the over optimism on here is sometimes scary.

They got a point against us last season and got 3 good goals against us, granted oine of them was a f**king gift, we should have won with Arteta's penalty.

I watched their game against albeit a v.poor Norwich tonight and they looked more solid at the back because Hangeland's back and Stekellenberg is much better than Stockdale. They've also got a young lad called Burns that looks like a decent young CB but I would wonder if they'd be mad enough to play him against a top prem team away from home. Hopefully they play Senderos and he puts in a similar performance like he did against Sunlun on Saturday...he was awful

If they play Berbatov instead of Bent it'll depend on whether he can be arsed or not.

Think it'll be more tight than is being predicted.

We need to score early and boss them, keep Berbatoss off the ball and Flamini roughs him up a bit, he'll get bored and spend the rest of the game being flagged offside.
