Lifelong Coventry fan facing ban.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If it is a criminal offense to walk on the pitch why wasn't Bendtner escorted off and charged?

How can you ban someone? does he have to report to the police every time his team are playing?

I don't think the law mentions walking "ineptly" and "lazily" with a "shit first touch". Just "walking". :rubchin:

Where is the guarantee they won't do it again? A caution also goes on your file and shows up in CRBs etc so will still have issues getting some jobs.

You get told everywhere, from match tickets, to ad boards, to T&C's on club websites (buried somewhere) it is a criminal offence to go on the pitch, as a "lifelong" Coventry fan if he thought that was the day to be an idiot and do it then he's stupid and deserves the ban.

Now if it had been a female streaker, I would be more open to negotiation. :rubchin:

NB -For sexism purposes, I wouldn't

Get off the pitch. Everybody knows the rules. Banning him from watching Coventry seems more like a prize than a punishment in all fairness.

Don't go on the pitch, you knobhead ; everyone knows that ; If you want to take one for the team and promote your protest in this way, then you have to accept the consequences of your actions.

This guy also doesn't help those of us who want less strict rules at matches, such as safe standing and drinking inside the ground, as someone will come up with some bullshit like "standing would increase the chances of a pitch invasion"

He should be banned for a year or 2, that will teach him enough.

A lifetime ban is too much.

It got increasingly annoying how the whole night was turned into a giant plug for Coventry's situation. A bit of banner waving is fine, but it got way OTT with the commentator's constant reference to it + this guy holding the game up.

Don't have much sympathy at all. Lifetime ban is probably too much but they wanted a martyr for the cause and he was it.

He deserves a ban but not a lifetime one. A 3 year ban is pretty much the norm and is probably what he'll end up with
