Van judas, would you welcome him back?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fuck no. He chose his ways and let him lay down and die on that path with manu.

Other reasons are:
- he's getting old
- he's injured a lot again
+ all the other reasons already mentioned here

Yes, I wasn't bitter about him leaving and blame the club more than anyone else. If they had bought world class players every summer , it wouldn't have even come close to him leaving.

He wanted to win trophies, having only won the FA cup with us do you blame him? Arsenal could do with RVP for the run in this season. He is world class. Giroud for all his effort, and don't get me wrong I love his attitude just isn't quite at the level required to steer us to glory.

I agree with this. I wonder if those singing about him being a rapist for the past year or so would suddenly start taking offence at other club's fans for doing it

You won't need to worry too much anyway, because

Van Persie isn't coming

Our feelings about the guy aside (although he's a prick) how would the players feel about it?

I can't imagine they'd want to play with someone who pretty much publicly stated they were beneath him.

You mean that football fans might have the propensity for being fickle???? Surely not??

I wouldn't take him back no - I'm not in the 'he left for the money' camp by any means, he wanted to win stuff and I can totally understand that. However, the way he went about things, making his position at the club untenable, forcing us to sell, and significantly weakening our selling position, was unforgiveable, particularly given the support we consistently gave him during the rape case and endless long term injuries. Bridges are burnt.

The sad and ironic thing is that a fit (ha ha) Van Persie would be a delight in our current team.

Agree.

He left for clear reasons but the way he issued the press statement was tasteless and all of his own doing.

He could have issued a generic statement thanking the club and fans for their continued support through injury battles and that he felt the time was ready for a new challenge etc etc.

This might have left the door open for a return, but I think the club hierarchy would not accept him back.

Hope we look forward and go for one of the other good strikers around...Jackson Martinez looks scary, do does Cavani, Draxler may be converted into a striker etc.

Like the Club or players care a fuck what we think,if the Club did, for some bizarre fucked up reason, decide to table a bid for him and he agreed to return it would not surprise me,after all it wouldn't be the first time we've been shit on by them,or the first time they've bought an injured player, and you can guarantee there would be people over the Grove with RVP on their shirts again before you knew it.I honestly have mixed feelings about it,he shit on the club but they lied to him too,the club lacked the ambition he had. I wouldn't care if he was scoring again for us,its not like we don't need a decent striker, fuck,I'd even have the buck toothed c*nt from the Mickeys if he won us the league.I doubt it will even happen.
