As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

a good a manager, that was 10 years ago,if you wish to carry on winning nothing ever year in year in out, getting bumholed by the big teams time and time again then go for it

I can understand that. But all I'll say is that we'll see what happens when he's gone.
I feel 99.99% sure that we're going to go BACKWARDS. Not trying to p1ss anyone off on here but I really do think that.

It's better than Groundhog Season. Not that I rate Rodgers super highly but he was able to take Liverpool from 8th place or whatever to title challengers playing ridiculous attacking football. I want some new ideas and no more dictator at the club.

As the day gets closer I actually agree. Wiggy and Gazidis are fucking clueless and will no doubt sign us up to years more misery

that's fair comment fella, dont be scared of the future though, remember who we are,we will have a que of top managers im sure waiting to take the regins, someone the likes of an Ancelotti or Low,we have millions in the bank,we have the spending power to compete with anybody with a decent manager at the helm.we won trophies before AW,we will win trophies again when hes gone,im pretty sure of that
it's not until he goes, will we see if anything happens. for all his faults he has managed to get 17 years of CL football, with a small budget. United are a fine example, under Moyes.
But i think we do need change, just hope we can get the right bloke

If he is such a good manager I'm sure one of the other big teams will be in for him then....

He has turned down PSG, Bayern and England in his 18 years at arsenal. So yeah, I'm sure some big team will be.

We will see, no other big team will take him on, he is a busted flush. Maybe he turned down those other teams as the expectations would have been too high, but time will tell. I think it would be very interesting to see how he would get on elsewhere.
As much as Id like to believe that he off. Its more likely that the club are simply battening down the hatches after yet another disgraceful result under Wenger. Keep the heads down, say nothing, get a win against the Swans and move on.

I would love to know how the situation arose where he actually had the chance to turn them down ? The man was under contract at all times so surely the man who (correctly) kicked up a stink over cashley meeting the chavs while under contract to us, wouldn't have been a hypocrite to meet other clubs without AFC knowing would he ?
Cant make my mind up whether all those rumoured approaches by Madrid, psg etc were all just bullshit to threaten the fans/club, or if he is the type of hypocritical pr*ck that would allow illegal approaches

I imagine that there was contact but very much along the lines of the 'If you ever fancy coming to us, let us know' sort rather than anything more concrete. He started all this turning down Madrid nonsense back in the summer of 2009 when he was put under pressure for the first time and had a tantrum. Since then, he's known full well that no decent team would have him so he's stayed with us. picking up his money and doing fuck all tactically.
