Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
Whilst the motivation is proper, I agree with MK Gould - it will be a failure. And with us more or less set for 4th and with the FA Cup final soon, we will be laughed at and slagged off by the media as being whiney ungrateful fair weather fans etc etc etc...

Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
I hope at least that the banner is better than the Citeh protest.
There was a large banner and a reasonable size protest at the Fulham match (I think) on the bear roundabout.
One slight problem with Gooners is the large number of groups- its divisive in itself. If Kroenke wants something he just feeds one group till they do his begging.
Is it beyond the ability of Gooners to have one overarching grouping?
Reminds me a bit of the teaching unions and their relative impotence

Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
This needs to be done in the stadium not outside. A few months ago we helped Coventry supporters out with their demo, why can't we help ourselves out? Word of this got round very quickly through various media/network sources, it wasn't difficult at all. Maybe certain so called Arsenal groups don't want to rock the boat as they "might" have their own agendas with the plc. Who knows, but a demo inside the ground really is not that difficult especially in the lower tier...

Any group in particular that you are implying there ?

Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
how else will the club pay for Wengers 40% pay rise ?REB wrote:http://shewore.com/2014/04/25/protest-p ... ice-rises/
there was no need for the board to up prices by 3% for next season with all the extra revenue coming in from the new deals the club have announced for next season,
its not like the club are sitting on a 120 million quid is it ?
oh. it is.
just don't renew...
Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
The media picked up on this partly because it was nice to see such unity between fans, but also because it was such a good cause. They are playing in the "3rd" Division, and have effectively been prevented (by their owners!) from playing in the their own City and forced to travel 34 miles away for home games! That's like us being forced to play at Luton or Stevenage!blocknineteen wrote:A few months ago we helped Coventry supporters out with their demo, why can't we help ourselves out?
Whereas not sure a 3% rise in ticket prices for a team on the verge of Champions League qualification, and an appearance in the FA Cup final, would have quite the same effect. I know exactly where people are coming from...but think we would be subject to a certain amount of ridicule!
Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
I'm going on sunday, I only go a handful of games each season so the ticket prices etc haven't worried me personally yet. But I am going to join in this protest because I do feel for my fellow gooners who are being ripped off.
Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
I'll be protesting if There's Only One doesn't sign this new deal soon

It's nothing to do with what division your in or how successful you are. It's about ripping of your own fans for an extra few million quid which is not needed. It's a classic example of pure greed otherwise known as modern football.MK Gould wrote:The media picked up on this partly because it was nice to see such unity between fans, but also because it was such a good cause. In addition, when did gooners suddenly became bothered about what the media says about us???
Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
You know what...I've had a think about this and decided to...join the protest
!
I can afford the 3%...others can't. I can afford a season ticket...but only because I let others use my tickets at various times during a season. And I'm as frustrated as anyone at the lack of investment...!
Anyone fucking laughs at me though and they're dead meat...

Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
Let me tell you all this. Fans singing 6% your having a laff and spend some fucking money INSIDE the stadium have more of an impact than anything that is done outside.
BTW having entered the emirates from the car park how do you plan to protest directly against the directors, when they will all be in cars entering the car park rather than the other entrance near the ticket office ! Screaming obsenities through the grills on that ramp wont cut the mustard. Another insipid effort at a protest from gooners.

i don't expect too many to protest since more and more have been priced out of going to games but i believe the board have to be told that sometime enough is going to be enough and it would be nice to see season tickets holders who don't agree with the price increase to support the protest,
i wont be there sad to say but i support the right and freedom to protest when people feel they cant keep been fleeced.

Toon fans planning a 69TH MInute to protest against club mismanagement - theres no reason you can't protest outside AND insode the ground is there ?
Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
Why not every one just sing fuck off stan at 3rd min inside stadium or 3% you haven a laugh (or whatever)- game is dead so no impact to the team....pisses me off the greed of our club....

Re: PROTEST AT W.B.A. GAME
Newcastle fans stage mass protest by walking out and giving pardew the bird. Arsenal fans tap on the window and meekly sing wenger out.
You cant have a pop at the club if your protests are as half hearted as our transfer policy. I guarantee anything done today wont get anywhere near the mainstream media. Newcastle on the other hand had maximum impact, its all over ssn and SNF match choice. No doubt it will also be discussed on sunday supplement.
