Arsenal fan hypocrisies

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ok lets make it simples for you lot. Gather round children:

Nevilles statements

1) "They've spent £9million net in 10 years and maintained the level of consistency of getting in the Champions League"

He is correct; that is a tremendous achievement. If any other company had this success they would be lauded by their shareholders. Granted this is a football club.

2) ""They've built a football stadium, they're paying off their debt and they're nearly there. If they move up now it will look like one of the most magnificent managerial performances when you look back in history."

He is correct again. To get the CL every season when you have Chelsea, Mansheikh, Liverfool and Sir Alex FC is astonishing.

3)"Half the Arsenal fans are annoyed because they think they should be doing more and should be doing better, but of all the madness and debt that surrounds football, what they have done is absolutely the right thing"

Ok I am going to break this down a little further:

I)"Half the Arsenal fans are annoyed because they think they should be doing more and should be doing better"

He is acknowledging that arsenal should be doing better ie winning trophies, which is not detracted by the "but" only put into context.

II)"but of all the madness and debt that surrounds football, what they have done is absolutely the right thing"

In context of Arsenal not being City or Chavski and actually having debt (stadium), being fiscally responsible was the right thing. Again, he is correct. He is correct in that being fiscally responsible was absolutely the right thing to do. However, as I said we went well beyond being fiscally responsible and went into being cheapskates.

III) "What they now need to do, having nearly paid off their debt, is they need to go now. I think he knows, Arsene Wenger, that moment is now."

Yes, the moment is now. Unfortunately Wenger decided to wait till the last day to throw 42m on some creepy looking German who got subbed at the 70m mark every RM game. Liverfool threw money at the wall from 06-2010 and what did they get? They are back to square one and with no new stadium.

Hypocrisy is a part of being a football fan.. Moan about cheating but excuse it from your own, hating Van Persie but loving Sol Campbell ..say refs are biased against your team but when you get a dodgy pen say it is part of the game. We have all done it and will continue to do it.

Congrats on the Highbury JD-style dissection post but it is genuinely unbelievable that you've started this thread without a hint of irony. You are by far the most hypocritical poster on here.

I'm not fickle. I am superior.
When you decided to post this thread as an alternative, you should have gone back to bed and not bothered. It would have been a more productive day for you.

If you've been watching the world cup, Ozil is an essential part of the german team. We should take note and use him to better effect next season. The reality is though, he will have more options to provide the killer ball in the coming season.
