ok now I get why it is a good laugh over the summer to laugh at the bottle jobs from that cess pit on Merseyside but the facts are these:
Liverpool beat us 5-1 earlier this year
Liverpool finished 2nd in the league whilst we finished 4th
we have done NOTHING this summer to address our defensive frailties so clinically exposed by them apart from signing a french RB to replace another french RB.
so whilst it is fun to laugh at them right now i don't think that we will once the season starts...

Some good points GR but our first choice back four is very strong and the 5-1 is a perfect example of why we need a defensive midfielder to shield them and stop them being left exposed. It's also a matter of tactical inflexibility...if a Mourinho team was being hammered/outplayed do you think he'd just sit back and take it, or make changes immediately?
I recall during the 8-2 that initially i felt sorry for AW squirming in his seat but then it dawned on me that he was the one person that could actually change something. Surely just dropping another body back into defence to make a back 5 would've at least blocked the acres of space that Utd were finding. Make no mistake, if that game had gone on another 5/7mins they would've got 10goals.
In summary,
1) remember that we played LFC 3 times last season and won twice. Remember also that the 5-1 wasn't a bad 90min performance but a dreadful first 25mins
2) we finish 4th season after season because that's our level, better than those below us but inferior to the bigger spenders above us. LFC had a flukey season last year that they'll never reprise (see my earlier post for explanation) but until we start competing with CFC/ManC in the transfer market we'll always be below them.

Haven't you heard??!!
We have signed one (possibly) world class player - all that shit about tactical ineptitude, inflexibility, and not signing a top DM, striker, CH or RB can now be forgotten!!

Also selling Suarez and still having Sakho as first choice CB is lolz
Yeah, I'm having a shit attack laughing about that too. And now the whining from several mouser media entities because Sanchez chose us over the mousers is making me chortle afresh!!
