Eisfeld sold to Fulham

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

er..he played against Boringwood last game!

Rodders - funny how people can see things quite differently. I think Coq is average but can look useful on a good day, but a bit too indisciplined and rash with challenges. He's not Mong or LegoHead level shite by any means, but there's not a lot I see there that would make me choose giving him an opportunity over say Eisfeld who I honestly thought looked quite intelligent on the ball and level headed with good vision and technique. :|

Doctors differ eh?

I saw him play at WHL a few season back and was extremely impressed by him. Looked a lot stronger than the powder puff midfielders we surrended him with. Maybe that's what is swaying my opinion on him. Just looked him up and he spent last seaosn on loan at Freiburg and didn't exactly set the world on fire so it would be no surprise to see him moved on during this wondow.

In Ferguson's autobiography he singled out Coq as dreadful and not up to standard (i read the book yonks ago and don't have it to hand to check his exact words) during the 8-2 but my recollection of watching that game- albeit through the haziness of increasing drunkeness in the pub -was that actually the roof really began to fall in when Coq (the DM) was inexplicably subbed off. I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion but i suspect his current presence is more due to a lack of interest in him from other clubs. Dunno bout his contract situation

Read that too. Honestly thought it was harsh at the time. I thought Coq had given a reasonable but not spectacular account of himself in a team sent to the slaughter.

Rodders - agreed on Coq's strength. He looks powerful and takes no shit on the pitch. I like that alot. If they could smarten him up a bit regarding not going flying in all the time then he might be useful alright.

I think Coq takes a bit of shit when he goes in round the back......people knock the Coq but he'll rise above it.
He's quite handy at set pieces as the Coq gets up well, he could cum good but I suspect he's spent now......in fact, a bit of a flop! 8)

With Coq providing protection in the middle, we'll be able to penetrate defences easier. We'll also be very stiff at the back as he'll help us plug any holes that appear.

Do you really think he's good enough to effectively transform the team at both ends?

His dream of the innovative 3-7-0 formation will happen, Steve. Have faith. 8)
You must have missed it mate the 3-7-0 formation was tried on a number of occasions when he had Flappy play as the outfield player in a green shirt... :D
