Theo Walcott

it must be said, but theo was a waste of space against brum. 2 often he made the wrong run, gave a 40/60 pass, his whole game is just so far of the mark. felt it was the rite decision 2 put him in, but 2 be honest i cant c him starting any more prem league games.

I had high hopes for Walcott and believed some of the media hype that surrounded him when he first signed. I think he has potential but whether or not he will ever realise that potential it at Arsenal, I am starting to seriously question. I think Wenger will stick with him though, after all if Senderos is still with us then Theo can surely be safe for a little while longer.

For me the problem with theo is the pace of the premier league.

He looks so much better when he plays in the champions league because he has time on the ball and can run at players. In the premiership you dont get this time.
When he was at southampton he had time on the ball, when he plays in the under 21 he has time on the ball.

Yes i agree he has alot of talent but is it as a winger i dont know.

Theo seems to me to cut inside alot instead of running down the line and getting crosses in.

At the moment i think its a confidence thing he knows he not playin well, he's use to scoring goals and he's not doing that, so confidence will not be high.

I do strongly feel that its to do with the pace of the premier league, theo has talent we all know that, give the lad time a few goals and a year or so, he will be alot better. He is only 18 i think alot of people forget this.

One thing we can't doubt about Walcott though is his PACE. I think I remember Henry saying last year that he was only just beating Theo in sprints at training.

Now, with this pace, surely Walcott can be more of a threat on the wings, even if he is more comfortable in the centre. Bringing him on later in matches against tired legs seems a good idea, as when he plays 90mins he often seems to be completely anonymous for 90% of the match.

What 2007_gooner says is true about time too, but the only way to improve that is to have Theo play more in PL fixtures and work on the issues himself.

and they have found a new boo boy! Christ Theo is only 18! tell me another 18 year old in the premiership who is constantly brilliant??? You cant name one can you, I dont know who said it the other week but on the whole its true, youth players are breaking in the squads a lot later than 18.

I hope you are wrong Smoothie and that Theo is not the new boo boy. I think it is fair to discuss when his form is going to match the promise tand potential that we have seen glimpses of. Yes he is only 18 but unfortunately gue to his price tag he is expected by the fans to deliver sooner rather than later.
