Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Christ a forward line of Welbeck and Sanogo, the mind boggles, more chance of them running into each other than hurting the opposition.....Its a chuckle brothers forward line.

A lot better than the kind of journeyman shite I'd thought we were going to sign to plug the Giroud gap. Another one for our British core, a bit of pace up front with room to improve. Welcome to The Arsenal.

Watch out if you sit near the corner flag, the chuckle brothers forward line.Welbeck and Sanogo.
Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
maybe not the big name striker we were hoping for but lets give him a chance and get behind him, went on redcafe last night for a read and the majority of the mancs were really sad to see him go so thats a positive

Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Looks like I'm in the minority but I think he's decent and is an ok signing. Better than that, he has a fair bit of PL experience, already knows several of our lads and has Euro experience too. He's scored some good goals and has been up against the likes of Judas and Rooney at United, we've seen players struggle at Arsenal when they are 3rd or 4th in the 'pecking' order. He doesn't seem to get injured too often (we'll soon cure that)!!
Of course I would rather have seen Falcao or Cavani but Wonga will not spend 50m on players he thinks don't have any return fee on.....both of the above are too old to get any money back on really. In Welbeck Wonga will be thinking 'three good years and I can sell him for 50m back to United or to Barca'.
One last thing......he'll hopefully keep the postman out of the team most weeks and for that, he is worth 30m, let alone 15-16!!

It's not good enough. He's not good enough. He's not shit, but he's not good enough to be at Arsenal. But then a fair chunk of our squad isn't either.
Let's see what he delivers. I'm not holding my breath but you never know, some players are pushed onto the next level by a change of club. Maybe he will be.

they miss him so give the guy a chance.
And Welbeck.

Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Obviously wish him well and hope he turns out to be a good signing - but ,if I'm honest, it's not one of those ''yes!'' moments like Sanchez.

Quartz, anyone coming here has a lot to do to convince some of our fans.
I'm convinced that if we had signed Messi some dick would still be complaining.
Personally I think he is a decent lad and could add something to our front line. I'm not over concerned about his goals to games ratio at the moment as he has been playing in a different set up to ours. It may be that ours suits him better, it may be that he crashes and burns. What I do know for sure though is that we need to get behind him and give him every chance to succeed.
Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Simply not true - don't recall seeing many on here bemoaning the signing of Sanchez and I'm sure if Khedira / Pogba had turned up along with a CB of international class the vast majority would have been delighted. Actually if he'd signed Micah Richards I'd have been happy.SPUDMASHER wrote:QuartzGooner wrote: I reckon he has a lot to do to convince Arsenal fans.

Its not a crime for people to point out the bleeding obvious and the lack of option in these 2 positions is exactly that - the bleeding obvious
Anyway, back on topic. My 1 in 10 maths about Welbeck was wrong (as was the 1 in 3 case put forward).......but he's here and once a Gooner I wish him the very best and will get behind him. He moved because he wanted to be a regular central striker and he now has a 4 month period to establish himself as exactly that with Giroud out, and the Parcelforce Kid his only competition.....lets hope it works out. We can't afford for it not to

Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Ok, after good night sleep it's time to look at this with new fresh eyes. Firstly, we need to stop bashing him immediately and give the lad all the support he needs. We wanted CB and DM and we got him and obviously we needed striker too. Maybe he's not world class, but honestly world class signing were never to happen. Welbeck is English international so he can't be that bad, right? Anyway he's a big, big improvement to Postman Pat who shouldn't be anywhere near Arsenal.
Let's get behind him and wish him welcomed to the Arsenal! Hopefully he'll do the job that has to be done.

They're a bit deluded over at RedCafe when it comes to Welbeck.REB wrote:http://www.redcafe.net/threads/danny-we ... er.395928/

BUT he is a good player, that's for sure. He needs to play week in, week out. He won't bring lots of goals but his all-round play is good and for £16 mill you've got a good deal.
Am I sad to see him go? Well, he's a Manchester lad and was at the club since he was 8. So my heart says yes, but he wasn't good enough for United and I don't think he's good enough for Arsenal either.
Good luck though Danny, hope he brings you guys happiness and success

That's because you shunted him out wide. He'll get to play upfront for us and with the creativity around him he'll bang them in for fun.Derek Acorah wrote:They're a bit deluded over at RedCafe when it comes to Welbeck.REB wrote:http://www.redcafe.net/threads/danny-we ... er.395928/

Btw, do you think it's a worrying sign that your club is now willing to sell a talented young England international who came through your youth ranks to a rival club? Certainly Fergie would never have sold him to us.
