Villa Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Last season we were very lucky to come away with 3 out of 6 points agaist them, we desperately clung on after dominating at Villa Park. I would be surprised if we even get a draw- 2-1 to them sadly. Breaks my heart to predict it really, but can see Keene really enjoying the win as well

I'm going to this.

Thus far I've been to Villa Park seven times including semi finals, three defeats and four draws (all of which were 0-0).

Easy win for us.

Someone should make a banner saying " FFS Play Ozil in the middle" and optionally add below wenger out :) :)
Whole world talks about it, whole world knows about it, but our "talk when you'll be 30 years in football" doesn't want to admit it.

As for result..bore draw.

I'm actually really confident about this game. Villa have had something like 6 shots on target all season and have 10 points. Even after last night's shitfest I can see us winning 3 or 4-1. Welbeck will score at least one. :D

My gut feeling without checking stats is that the away team often does better in Arsenal v Villa fixtures. Here's hoping.

Our first Saturday 3pm match (maybe I'll wear the clock @ 3pm tshirt) I'm heading up on the cheaper Chiltern railway. Expecting lots of goals both ends but hopefully we will get more and knock them off 2nd spot. I met an Aston Villa season ticket holder who came down to London to see my favourite band last year so might say hello to him pre-match.

I used to be a massive fan of Villa Park, back when it still had the Archibald Leitch designed Trinity Road stand ; then was knocked down and replaced with some concrete & glass monstrous carbunkle, and that stadium has never held the same allure for me.

Plus their fans are incredibly fickle from an attendance point of view ; If they win the previous game, gates can increase by up to 5k, and vice versa if they are coming off a defeat.

Win, lose or draw wenger will still be here. That's the thing that really pissed me off.

2-0 to the Villans. Agbonlahor with a brace both from swift counter attacks. Wenger will be picking his nose on the bench before making his customary 70th minute substitution.
