International break

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Perfect result in Group D. There's an element of order now with Poland and Germany in the top two

INGERLUND......INGERLUND.......INGERLUND

Oireland and Scotland aren't coming to France

Wouldn't write the scots off yet steve o - Strachan has them playing with real passion and for countries like our's, that can sometimes make up for a lack of technique and quality. Have to say that Robertson (hull left full) looked real quality tonight - some of the media have been bigging him up based on his performances for hull this season, and on tonights evidence I can see why. Shaun Maloney is class - he was class at celtic, is class for wigan and is class for scotland 8)

As for our team  O'neill showed wenker like tactical prowess by taking off shane long and going 1 striker up front for the last 25mins and of course it invited the scots to bombard us and they got the winner they deserved. Both irish full backs were shit and Darren Gibson isn't even distantly related to a footballer

All I hope is that when Wenger finally leaves us, the Irish FA make him an offer he can't refuse :D

Actually chaps - that's too damn cruel - wouldn't wish that on anyone (even the Jocks)

I would have thought you would have preferred Ireland and Scotland to qualify if only to spare England getting dicked as usual by Germany and probably by Poland in the finals after England's "romp" through their incredibly tough qualifying group.

No chance - an international tournament wouldn't be complete without you lot sitting at home cheering for everyone who plays us

That's the main advantage of being irish, you hope that one team will win it whereas we hope that any one of all the rest will :D

I have to enjoy my moment during the qualifying phase.......before Greg Dyke's next scheduled 'root and branch' review of English football when we slump again in two Summer's time ! Still its only 8 years before he's got us down to win the thing in the 50 degree heat

O'Neill showed Wenger like delusion after the game by saying if Ireland had scored it would have been deserved... Steven Reid said Coleman was our best player, thought he was skinned by Ayna earlier in the game and gradually got more confused as the game went on. Ward decided to keep the centre backs company so left a big gap on the left. It was a League 2 standard local derby. Frenzied and passionate with little or no football from Ireland, to their credit the Scots did play at times.
I think this is where Ireland are and all the criticism of the RTE panel (Brady, Giles and Dunphy) for not joining in the wankathon after the lucky draw in Germany looks stupid now.

Sadly it seems the Scottish supporters who was seriously injured in a fall at the stadium has passed away.

See Luke Shaw in 1 of yesterdays papers ,saying England will soon shoot up the rankings to get to number 1.

Must shoot down to the bookies and put some money on them winning the Euros :barscarf:

All this talk of Rooney being an England legend is absurd. He's scored one solitary World Cup goal, and only has 43 in the 99 games (so 0.43 goals per game). For a striker, that's actually pretty poor, I'd say - especially considering that most of those games were against the likes of Estonia and Latvia.

Rooney is a joke. him gerrard and lampard are the reason England have been so poor the last 10 years.

England will never learn, Woy continues to pick wooney and wilshire based on their reputations rather than form.

I used to follow them to every major tournament in Europe, but now i'm just meh. they will probably lose today.

Put money on him being at Arsenal in the future then because he must be as deluded as Wenger, and that's Arsene's kinda player.
