Fair point. So long as we don't do this Invincibles v a Treble argument again as I get embarrassed each time I hear a Goiner claiming they'd rather have an unbeaten season. Don't get me wrong unbeaten season is a remarkable achievement, may not be repeated. I'd still rather take 3 trophies (including the biggest of all) over one. That's just me mind...Peeman wrote:Disagree. Media banging on about them wankers doing "The Invincibles". They didn't even make it til xmas FFS the scummy cun.ts.Ikechukwu1 wrote:Spot on. In my opinion what we did will never be repeated. There is a reason it has only ever been done once in what we would consider the professional era - coz its virtually impossible to do.
So for me I think its worth celebrating every year (like a birthday) every time the last unbeaten team falls, especially when the media are wanking silly over another possible invincible season and especially when it involves that slimey manager, scummy players & chavvy fans. Maybe they might wait til the end of March in future til they get the lube and the tissues out.
So anyway HAPPY INVINCIBLES DAY, to each and everyone of us![]()

Haven't really thunk about it to be honest. I do think The Invincibles is harder to do though.
I presume the biggest of all is the CL?. But for me I'd still rather win the domestic league. The CL is a cup competition. The best team doesn't always win cup competitions as has shown in the past eg Porto, Liverpool, Chavski etc and the likes of Portsmouth FA Cup, Birmingham Carling Cup etc etc etc. Even us that year we were 15 mins from winning it but we were 4th in the league. What would that have meant? Yes it would be great to win it, as it is winning the FA Cup but personally I'd rather win the league.
I'll have a think about The Invincibles v Treble and revert back to u. Provisionally I agree 3 trophies should trump 1 league. But for me The Invincibles won't be repeated but Treble will and has.
Agree 100%. The only thing I can imagine that will be even more cringeworthy will be on the final day of the season watching the Sky cameras capture the AKB thronging masses jumping up and down at the Bowl as news filters through from the Etihad that City have beaten Southampton to secure the latest VT against our moneybags rivals from the South Coast. We're one rung up from that shower up the road celebrating what they thought was a Newcastle equaliser a couple of seasons back.....and I expect us to finally drop to those depths this seasonIkechukwu1 wrote:Spot on. What has this got to do with OUR invincibles not having their/our record equalled. You're hatred of Wenger and AKB's shouldn't cloud our achievements and the fact modern day footballers can't come close to itSteveO 35 wrote:Agree 100%. We are cheering because a team we won't finish within 20 points of, lost a game. It's exactly what Spurs used to do when we lost a game and they were fucking floundering mid table.flash gunner wrote:What has this got to do with OUR invincibles not having their/our record equalled. Us celebrating our achievements is nothing what so ever like the scum celebrating another team beating Arsenal
