Brilliant, mate. Glad you both had a great day.Nodz172 wrote:Came down for a stadium tour and a wonder around on Saturday, I don't think I will ever forget the look on his face as he saw the top of the stadium as we walked from arsenal tube station to the ground.
Spent nearly four hours walking around and in the shop but it was worth it. Just made the train home too as we had to go to the shard so he could see how big it is![]()
All in all a good but very long day out and he is already planning our next trip. Shame we live so far away really.

I must say that as someone who hates so much about modern football and despairs over what Arsenal have become ... it was really uplifting to read something like thatNodz172 wrote:Came down for a stadium tour and a wonder around on Saturday, I don't think I will ever forget the look on his face as he saw the top of the stadium as we walked from arsenal tube station to the ground.

Recommend you take your boy on the London Eye.
Also recommend Covent Garden for the street entertainers and general atmosphere.

Re: Emirates Visit
My boy is eight this Saturday and is Arsenal mad. I am taking him to his first match at Arsenal on the 1st March against Everton and he cant wait. Going down a lot earlier to take him around Highbury and take in the sites. A neighbour recently moved in near us and he saw my boy wearing his Arsenal kit playing football in the garden. The guy has supported Arsenal all his life and told me he knows people at the club. A couple of weeks later he knocked at the door with signed photos of Giroud/Carzola and also a Charlie George photo signed to my boy which blew his mind. Now whenever he scores a goal he does the Charlie George celebration.Clash wrote:I must say that as someone who hates so much about modern football and despairs over what Arsenal have become ... it was really uplifting to read something like thatNodz172 wrote:Came down for a stadium tour and a wonder around on Saturday, I don't think I will ever forget the look on his face as he saw the top of the stadium as we walked from arsenal tube station to the ground.

Its amazing how watching games with him bring back the feeling of innocence while supporting and not allowing myself to get too pissed off when things dont go our way. I enjoy watching the games a lot more these days and can now not let it ruin my whole weekend/week we we lose.

That's so great, man. Hope he has a brilliant day. In a similar place with my boy. He's 9 and just lives and breathes Arsenal now. Watches every game with me and his unpoisoned love of the team and the players is so pure and innocent I just love it tbh. Will be breaking my self imposed boycott and bringing him over this season. Gonna bring him down to highbury, the station, the tour, the museum, everything.Monkeymaw wrote:My boy is eight this Saturday and is Arsenal mad. That first time I stepped onto the NB.... hairs on the back of my neck stood on end.

Hard to believe it's nearly 25 years ago...

Re: Emirates Visit
Have to say my 14 year old has no interest in footie whatsoever, I took him in the final season at Highbury and a couple of seasons later to the bowl.

Re: Emirates Visit
Exactly the same as me. I havent been since Utd 8-2 where I left before the end for the first time in my life. When I got back to the car I found myself blocked in by Utd fans so had to wait before getting out anyway.DB10GOONER wrote:That's so great, man. Hope he has a brilliant day.
