Wonder what reception Fabregas will get. I would be loathe to clap a Chelsea player but would be a huge shame to see him widely booed. Regardless of what happened, who's to blame for him not being in an Arsenal shirt and how much damage that's done, I will always remember how class he was for us and the fact that he basically carried us as masquerading title contenders at times from 2007-11.

I'd boo him.

I know full well we had a buy back clause and that Wenger royally fucked up, but Fabregas is going to spend the best years of his career at Chelsea and be an integral component in a team that will no doubt bring misery to Arsenal for the coming years. hell, he's only been there 9 months and already notched up his first title and league cup

By the very nature of signing for Chelsea, he's signing up to doing all he can to bring success to Chelsea and stopping Arsenal. From a fans perspective, a decision like that from a former captain and fan favourite cannot be ignored and he should be given dogs abuse at every opportunity.

This isn't jilted lover stuff. It's simply that I cannot condone a former captain signing for Chelsea. It's unthinkable.
Why shouldn't he sign for them?
Arsenal rejected him, not the other way around. He therefore has no obligation to us and has the right to go on and do the best for his new team.

Have you forgotten what a bunch of *word censored* we thought the scum fans were for their treatment of Sol? At least they had a reasonable beef over the way he joined us. We can't argue anything like that with Fabregas.

Aside from that, I just can't see us beating them. They'll come with a negative approach to the game just like they did today with Manure (only 30% possession at home  ) and they'll either sneak a narrow win or leave very happy with a draw.

They'll do what they always do. Soak up pressure & capitalize on our mistakes. We'll do what we always do, struggle to break them down & pass around the middle of the park failing to use the width of the pitch.

I'm only talking about booing Spuddy.

Booing and heckling has been used since the year dot to show displeasure. Hell, it's used in pantomimes, parliament and probably bake sales when someones puff pastry doesn't rise. Booing doesn't need to result in racial abuse and nastiness.

If I want to show displeasure at Cesc walking out onto the Arsenal pitch in a Chelsea shirt then I don't see a problem with it.

The abuse aimed at Sol was different. Booing doesn't have to result in this disturbing level of abuse.

So small-time, I'm sure Cesc will really care about a few bitters booing him, as he prepared to achieve in one season under Jose what he couldn't in nearly a decade under Le Twat: a league title. Just as we booed Cole, as he went on to mock our fans and win everything going
So yeah keys boo him. Bet Cesc is gutted he never re-signed for us and take part in the amazing "progress" of this season

Oh come on mate, I'm sure you can offer your opinion without lauding Chelsea's success over us and ridiculing those of us who are frustrated and disheartened with Arsenal in recent seasons :|

Look, showing displeasure isn't small time! It's simply a natural outlet of frustration. Frustration at Wenger for not re-signing him and frustration that another former captain has won the league with a Premier League rival.

I am frustrated. I don't like seeing Ashley Cole, Fabregas and RVP in rival teams. We should try harder to keep these players and (although unlikely) I'd like our players to be brainwashed into seeing these rival teams as the enemy and NOT future employers :x

I don't get why showing displeasure is seen as bitter, small time and on a path to being scummier than the chavs (as Chippy suggests) - it isn't. Some people may go further than that, but the worst Cesc can expect is a mixture of applause, growns, boos and muttering. What's the big deal with that? :?

Yeah I'm now a Chelski fan! Haha superb. It's small time to boo him when we had the chance to re-sign him. It's pathetic and he's had the last laugh. If you can't see that, more fool you.

Sorry but, with all due respect, you sound anything but "disheartened" to me. You appear perfectly content with goings on at Arsenal. I distinctly recall you mentioning our "progress" just a few days ago!
And are you seriously not telling me that you can't see how booing Cesc - when our tool of a manager overlooked his signing - is small-time? He won the league FFS! I get booing him if it's a close-run thing and we want to put him off his game...but this is just pathetic. He's coming to our place as a champion-elect. Any boos will be laughed off, make our lot come across bitter, and it's too easy for Cesc to laugh at. I get the anger but there's one person only to blame for this. Hint: he's the one whose name gets belted out after we scrape a win at Burnley

Is it not possible to see progress and be frustrated with the way the club has been run? :?

I said back-to-back cup final wins on the back of almost a decade of winning nothing would be considered progress to most people, including myself. Especially if it includes our highest league position in a decade.

However, I also said that all is not rosie in the Arsenal garden. That is obvious.

So no, I'm not perfectly content and I've never said I was.

But anyway, that's going off track... the point is that there's nothing wrong with booing and showing you're discontent and frustrated. People should be allowed to voice their disapproval at Wenger for not re-signing Cesc. And they should be able to voice their disapproval at seeing Cesc in a Chelsea shirt. It's not small time at all. It's completely reasonable.
- Football stadiums aren't churches. We shouldn't have to sit still with our mouths shut if we don't agree with something. Cesc joining the chavs is a horrible turgid mess and as I'm frustrated and discontent by it, I don't see why I can't stand up and say something!

Obviously there's boundaries about what people should and shouldn't shout at Wenger, Gazidis and Cesc but as long as it's not overly offensive then what's the problem?

He was a fantastic player for us, and as I understand it the blame lies with Wenger for declining to bring him back, so I can kinda understand if people want to give him a pass.

However, he left under a cloud and he decided to sign for those *word censored* (after saying publicly he never would) so, if he cops dogs abuse I won’t shed a tear, and neither will he – he’s going to win the league.

Watch Wenger continue walking into the hands of Mourihno, Chelsea beat us without breaking a sweat and Wenger's groundbreaking record goes on.

Oh good, another thread about the player we sold years ago.

I think the landlord at the Globe will cry into his Cesc Fabregas pillowcase if he scores in this one

A 0-0 borefest awaits
