community shield ticket info

The Community Shield is a bit cock isn't it ?
Only ever been to one of these. Its a good day out so long as you dont expect too much and just accept it for what it is. A friendly.

1993 against Man U. Think it was Mark Hughes who scored first for them? Then Wrighty equalised.
Full time it was 1-1 and everyone thought the shield would be shared as was the custom. Then it was announced that there would be penalties to decide the winner for the first time ever. The loud groans and moans from all sections of the ground indicated what everyone thought about that!
We eventually lost on pens. Can remember Seaman and Wrighty missing pens I think?

When we where at our most successful between 1998-2005 the charity/community shield did become a chore, especially for the games being played in Cardiff. As it's on our doorstep and doesn't cost much relative to PL and Cup Final Tickets it's still worth bothering about especially vs those chavs.

Will be interesting to see if their end sells out. It would sum Chelski up if they cant sell 27,000 tickets for a friendly.

I will be watching the cricket

if this game is anything like the two we played against this lot last season then it will be very boring (add in the fact that Sanchez is not playing and we also have no hope of winning it)

I doubt that we will see Sanchez until September.
its one reason why I am totally against this ridiculously early start to the season this year.
the early start really doesnt help us as we all know that Wenger WILL not be ready in time :banghead:

there is no reason for it either - the Cup final is still being played late so the excuse of finishing early for the Euros is a load of crap.

Good to see the "big club" chelsea are now offering 3 tickets for each season ticket holder or member. We sold out a week ago.

It would be hilarious if they couldn't sell out their end. Why do they need a bigger stadium me thinks !

Tickets arrived today. No expectations for retaining the Shield, just want to be there. Missed out on tickets last year 'cause the Club messed up my e-mails and I didn't get an invitation to apply for tickets. Tad gutted when I found out, then cross as no apology from the Club.

not your fault but you sum up the mentality at the club these days

Chelsea fans - "we are a big club and we will win the Community Shield"
Arsenal fans - "we are playing a big club and so it is just nice to have a day out at Wembley"

If anyone has a spare Adult ticket going for Sunday I would be very grateful.

I can meet anywhere in London or not too far out. Or even next day delivery would get to me in time if posted today.

Thanks for any help.
