Problem is. If we win it's great in the ground and the singing etc is brill but when you get outsite they are waiting. But if you loose it's better outside but worse in the ground. Thing that makes me laugh is last time I was in Q outside lane scum fans were shouting "fuck offf back south of the river scum" etc. Bloody hundred odd years ago we moved and they still go on about it. No class, no trophies, no tube station, nothing to like about them.
Never had a single problem at Man City the last couple of seasons tbh mate. Not saying you dont know any better but ive always had a lovely time up there. fans were a good laugh and the police and stewards very helpful. If anything its one of the best to go for a laugh. Its the other end of Manchester you should put that description too. Their police can get quite nasty.Gunner152 wrote:fans making it very intimidating both inside and outside the ground. apparantly the police form a large fence all the way out of the ground and man city fans make it their duty to abuse the fuck out of you until you are lost in the crowd.
may not be quite as bad, but cant say i'm bothered.
only quoting an away ground guide website, mind you the guy who writes it is a brummy.EL-Z wrote:Never had a single problem at Man City the last couple of seasons tbh mate. i did struggle to see why the mancs would be so aggressive when they are so used to hating Man U$A
waiting? what did they do? or what did you see?southampton gooner wrote:Problem is. If we win it's great in the ground and the singing etc is brill but when you get outsite they are waiting. GUYS, ALTHOUGH THE LANE CAN BE VERY INTIMIDATING OUTSIDE THE GROUND, IT'S NOT WORTH LOSING SLEEP OR SHITTING YOURSELF OVER.
IN TRUTH, IF YOU ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT GOING THAT YOU'RE HAVING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND ARE NOT GOING TO ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE, THEN YOU'RE BETTER OFF SELLING THE TICKETS AND WATCHING IT ON TV.
IF YOU DO GO, THE BEST ADVICE GIVEN IS TO NOT WEAR COLOURS (OR HIDE THEM UNDER A BIG COAT UNTIL YOU GET INSIDE THE STADIUM), AND TO TRY AND MINGLE WITH THE CROWD STRAIGHT AFTERWARDS. IT MIGHT ALSO BE WORTH ALTERING THE ROUTE YOU TAKE TO THE GROUND SO THAT YOU MINGLE WITH THE SPUDS ON THE WAY THERE.
I THINK I REMEMBER SOMEONE ON THE FORUM (GOONER.ED?) ONCE SUGGESTED THAT THE BEST THING TO DO IS HEAD FOR THE SPURS CLUB SHOP, BUY A PROGRAMME - WHICH I THINK IS PUT IN A CLUB BAG - AND THAT WILL MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU'RE A SPUD
(YEAH, DISGRACEFUL I KNOW BUT NEEDS MUST AND THE SHAME DOES GO AWAY EVENTUALLY!
).

Have been on my own a few times to that dive
Like most say, don't wear colours...I know it's hard to mingle with shit but do your best...try walking to the ground rather than getting the bus if you're coming to seven sisters, there was nothing worse than the league cup semi 1st leg last year when i was crammed in on the bus and they started chanting their sick paedophile chants etc
Basically go to town on them once you're inside but outside get your head down, get in...on the way back, get your head down get out....just walk past any punch ups or flying bottles.
The game there in September and the day we won the league there were two of the best away days I've had so dont let the stuff outside put you off.
