It's the main reason I lost interest. At one point I think we had 4 or 5 South Africans in the team.
How can you be interested in your national team when they're not your nationals playing??? (Irish football supporters have many years of experience and may be able to throw some light on this)
To be fair we did learn from the terry butcher, john barnes, tony dorigo etc stories

Re: The Ashes
Root goes for 134 driving at a nothing ball from Starc, but still a great knock that has dragged England into this game.

Re: The Ashes
Starc strikes again: cartwheels Stokes' leg-stump with a great delivery; Stokes goes for 52.
Moeen Ali in now and then we're into the tail. Could be bowled out tonight.

Re: The Ashes
Close of play: England 343 – 7.
Fairly even day with Aus in the ascendency early on with the dismissals of Lyth, Cook and Bell for peanuts with England rallying thanks to a magnificent century from Root.
The pitch, however, looks tailor-made to simply nullify Mitchell Johnson; and while that has worked, it may backfire when England bowl tomorrow.

Re: The Ashes
Yes I think the Aussies will be pleased if they bowl us out for under 400 on this. Not what England's bowlers would want to bowl on either, and when we need to win the series, it's probably not the best idea to prepare a pitch that nullifies our bowlers' strength as well as theirs

Re: The Ashes
The match up between Root and Steve Smith will be key to who wins the series. Both in stellar form and will carry each team's batting line up. 2 future greats of the sport in career best form!officepest wrote:Root goes for 134 driving at a nothing ball from Starc, but still a great knock that has dragged England into this game.
Cook was disappointing as usual, lost concentration.
