No new transfers then reduce our season tickets costs

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I understand the argument that suggests that once the season tickets are renewed the club wont give a shit how the fans feel, but I still believe that the fans can renew and still hit them hard. A club like ours places a HUGE emphasis on pr and the image of the club, and if the fans doing anything which brings negative publicity to the club, they will not be happy. Think about the clubs pre-historic attitude to banners saying anything half controversial (especially about le cock), and you will see how much they fear anything which questions the club publicly.
The fans should pick a game that is live on tv and organise a protest for that game - arrive late for the game and leave blocks of empty seats for the first fifteen minutes and watch the tv cameras focus on them. Publicise the reasons for said protest and see how sponsors react to the negative publicity they and the club will get worldwide. The beauty of this type of protest is that the club would be pretty much powerless to stop it - they cant stop fans going into the ground late because it sets a precedent where fans will be refused entry having paid for a ticket, regardless of whether they have genuine reasons for being late.

One of the problems with giving up the season ticket is that we are only 2 or 3 players short of being genuine title contenders. How stupid would u look if u gave up ur ticket we bought the needed players and we went on to win the league. Especially after years of watching comedy, lego head, bean head, Billy big bollox, the clown, the flapper etc etc.

what a load of bollox .....

so after having a ST for over 50 years it's now time not to renew because of what exactly? Please don't tell me because of the board and manager we have?

I personally don't renew on the basis of the above....

Would it not be unreasonable to maybe ask instead of asking others not to renew that you all actually maybe BUY A TICKET FOR A SET GAME AND MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD because let's face it there's probably only 100 ( I'm being kind here) members of this forum that do actually have a ST

I want this board and current management gone possibly more than most on here but it won't happen whilst the majority stay away from matches.

It's only one game .... Get it organised.

I had two season tickets (one in my name and one in one of my sons name) and refused to renew two seasons ago. I had a 50% share in a club level seat for the first 2 or 3 seasons at the grove. When the club rang me last season offering a chance to get a club level seat that had just become available because the previous tenant had upgraded (yeah right  ), I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not renew as long as wenker remains in charge. Choosing whether to renew or not is a personal decision and I would never exert pressure on anyone not to renew cos I understand that some people have waited a long time to get one. I also dont agree that we have no options in between renewing and not renewing - to listen to some fans you would think that there is no form of proper protest open to us if st's are renewed and that is ridiculous. There are many avenue's of protest open to us that season ticket holders and non season ticket holders can both partake in, and all it needs is some strong leadership to organise it (like a popular fanzine for example  ) - the rate of currency exchange coming from Ireland is a killer at the mo, but if I had notice I would do my best to travel over for a serious protest

the lack of coordination is preventing anything from happening.

I also don't agree that having a protest from ticket holders for example coming into the ground late will ever work.
simple reason - tickets are so expensive now that the majority of people attending the Emirates make it a day out, the old type fans are not there anymore in great numbers. They won't want to spoil their day out by turning up late and in any case we never do particularly badly. This is the genius of Wenger, he has never really failed - 20 years or so in the top 4 is proof of that. Yes he is no longer a winner but he is not yet an out and out loser and we have to remember that.
