I spoke to a mate in great deal about how Francis Jeffers was the real deal and the Wenker kid policy would have another invincible squad in 2010.

That the new stadium would eventually enable us to compete with the best of them.

Thinking Wenger was a tactically astute manager.

Only agree with no.7. Still believe he's better than welbeck and giroud. I believed that we would dominate the league and Europe as the team of the '90's and we should've done but half the team were pissed up most the time and didn't sober up until 1997...defeat to Benfica in extra time in 91/92 campaign still hurts me more than the 2006 final.

In addition to much of what has been said already, I remember thinking - back in 1998 - that Alex Manninger's performances were so good that he'd force Seaman out of the side and go on to be our number one for the foreseeable future.

Not sure why, but his performances from 1998-99 onwards were nowhere near what they were when he was helping us win the title in the Spring of 1998.

Being disappointed when Vieira left ... but thinking there was no way Wenger would have let him go if he didn't have a high quality replacement lined up.

As it turned out he did have a replacement lined up but luckily forgot to buy him before he signed for Real Madrid. I say luckily because we loaned this particular figure a year later and he was absolutely shocking.

I am of course talking about Julio Baptista or ''The Beast'' as he was laughably called  A man only rivalled by Andre Santos in the ''how the fcuk did he play for Arsenal and Brazil' stakes.

The Baptista debacle was a watershed moment for me as it was probably when I first realised Wenger didnt have the midas touch.

Lets a quality player go ... failed to sign the replacement / the replacement was shite. A show of incompetence Wenger has repeated several times since.

That with only Song as defensive midfielder in the summer of 2008, we were certain to buy another one before the transfer window closed.

That Jay Simpson would be a squad member for a few seasons.

1. Legohead. The first couple times I saw Legohead Denilson play, my mate said to me "That's our new Fabregas - only better" and I agreed 100%. He looked fucking brilliant!!  Strong, fast, massive workrate, great pass to open up the defence. Within a season he went from the next great thing to absolute fucking shite.

2. The Beast. Thought he would be the best signing since The Dennis. I still think we got the wrong Baptiste tbh. The fat slow waste of oxygen that turned up looked VERY different to the player that Real Madrid signed.

3. In 98 and 02 I thought Wenger was a tactical genius. It wasn't until I heard a Keown interview where he revealed that Wenger's "tactics" didn't go much past "play your game". :|

I am convinced that Arsene would never have had that early success without;

A). GG's back 4.
B). top class players like DB10, PV4 and TH14.

He has been exposed for the manager he is over the last 8 years or so.

I thought Arshavin would set the Prem alight, not fizzle out on the bench.

Post of the season mate if not the decade or at least 8 years of it- the stupid twat had the chance to leave in a blaze of glory and Arsenal/ world immortality, but for greed and vanity it seems hes stayed on, tarnishing his reputation month by month. The fact he didnt go 8 years ago shows up 3 of the worst Wenger foibles, stubboness, lack of tactics, and a lack of foreward thinking.

Legends leave early or know when to leave, the tedious hang on till they are stale.

I loved Arshavin. Wenger ruined him by playing him on the wing endlessly. It was fucking sacrilege.

I can't believe Podolski was frozen out either.
