Bayern at home
Re: Bayern at home
If Mertesacker plays at CB we will get ripped apart by their movement
1-3 - which will give us the chance for a 'spirited, moral victory' 1-1 draw in the return match, leaving us with 1 point from 4 games.
The two games between Zagreb and Olympiakos will be draws leaving them with 5 points each.
We'll beat Zagreb at home, whilst Bayern will trounce Olympiakos, meaning that we'll go to Greece knowing victory will take us through to the last 16.
Rodders and I will both go blind after that game and spend the next week walking like we've got off a horse after excessive pud pulling

Re: Bayern at home
This could get really ugly very quickly - unless we can score very early on - then hit them on the break every chance we get - Alexis to be MOTM regardless of score or outcome.

Why do we all care so much, we can't win the CL, so why be in it?? We cannot even get close. This is Wengers season, this is his promise to the owner, this is where his bonus is, this is what REALLY matters to him. For that reason alone I hope we go out. I have been saying for years we need to finish outside the top 4. That money dries up, Kroenke's gonna be pissed. As long as it keeps coming in everything will be just fine. Trophies..... you lot can go swing. I hope we go out. And badly, I don't wanna swop this for Thurday night football. Mind you, a freezing cold night in some far flung, wind swept hell hole might do Wenger the world of good

the reason we didn't spend any money this summer was because Wenger knew that it wasn't required for us to get a top 4 finish.
if there was any doubt about that then we will spend in January but we won't because looking at the fixture list it will be hard for us to be out of the top 3 come January. I don't think the club is too worried about missing out on the annual last 16 humiliation because they have managed to sneak in a category A game with the visit of Bayern Munich. Any non ST holders who are spending £90 on a ticket for this waste of time are the reason why Wenger and Kroenke have got away with so much over the last few seasons

If Ospina starts it will tell you all you need to know about this game. The thing about Arsenal is there is absolutely nothing that would surprise you, I could just as easily see us winning 3 zip as losing by the same score line.
All I hope is that there's still something on the line when we jet off to Greece so the industrial tub of KY jelly I've ordered doesn't go to waste

I'm not sure how he can drop Ospina now - without looking like a right twat.rodders999 wrote:If Ospina starts it will tell you all you need to know about this game. Saw this on SSN and wondered (a) if it's true (b) would AW have played him after all the flack he got last time.
Re: Bayern at home
Then again, we tend to win against expectations when the pressure is off (Is that another Virtual Trophy we hold?). Our team is so schizophrenic

Re: Bayern at home
Walcott up front so we're playing with 10 men again. We will need 11 against this lot. Draw on the cards. We'll win in Munich.

Saw this in The Guardian which made me chuckle:
Optimism is a wonderful thing. Indeed an optimist might suggest Arsenal are at least ahead of schedule this season, already facing elimination over two games against one of Europe’s superpowers where usually they have to wait until the spring.
