Arsenal The Highbury Years

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Remember the half half hats though? I found my Arsenal/Dundee United one in the loft the other month! Fuck knows why I bought a Dundee United one though?
Oh, yes. What on earth were they all about? I remember seeing blokes with half-Arsenal, half-Celtic, half Arsenal, half Rangers but Dundee Utd is a new one. Isn't it time we brought them back?
Edit: I've just found a picture of one:

Clash wrote:Still miss Highbury so much. Went to my first game there as a 5 year old in 1978. And from about 1982 onwards I probably missed no more than half a dozen games there.

The sad part is I was always certain in my mind I would still be going there as an old man. Unfortunately the egos and greed of a small self-serving elite put an end to that possibility.

After persevering with The Emirates for about 7 seasons , I no longer go there. Despite trying to delude myself that I still care, in truth I just don't have any real passion for the club anymore.

That is sad to read, mate - but as said by others, I fully understand.

I had begun to lose my passion for the club too. I have stopped travelling over for games, I hate the "Conglomerates Experience" as a paying "customer". I feel disenfranchised. I find myself relating less and less to the club I grew up with and have supported for over 40 years - and spent a fortune supporting too. I think I would have drifted away entirely if not for watching both 2014 and 2015 cup finals with my 10 year old son and seeing his joy and excitement. His newfound love and obsession with all things Arsenal have rekindled my fires a bit. I'd like not to attend the poxy Conglomerates Stadium ever again tbh, but my son is putting pressure on to be brought to games and I guess I'll have to bring him.

I'm currently schooling him in our history, our traditions and our lore - all the good shit the cúnts on the board have fucked away with their cartoon crest, shite LEGO stadium and allowing millionaire mercenary 20 year olds to choose their jersey sleeve length (the older posters here will know what that refers to - fuck William Gallas the cúnt :x  ).

:(
