Rest of the weekend games 19-21 dec

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Klopp was never going to take Liverpool to top four this season. They have such a lack of quality there - this season is a freebie for him really as it doesn't really matter if he finishes 6th or 12-15 points further back in 9th.

The fans and players clearly buy into him so this season is about getting the players used to his system and figuring out who to trust going forward. Everything is going to hinge on who he manages to sign and how they get on.

Personally I like the guy but don't think he will bring them to the big time. As much as anything else as popular as he is, he is going to struggle to attract players there. Let's be brutally honest - the likes of Chelsea and City aren't even shopping at the top table any more with the comparative strength of Bayern, Barca and Real Madrid, not to mention the pulling power of Juventus and PSG chucking their money about as well.

So by the time you've got through the likes of United, us, Atletico etc etc below that, Liverpool are fighting with the likes of Spurs and continental equivalents for scraps. Klopp's name will carry some weight with players but it's not going to suddenly make them desperate to move to Liverpool.
