This is about as underwhelming as it gets.

The UEFA Cup used to be a fantastic competition but the current format (where all the big teams HAVE to be in the CL) has reduced the Europa to a sideshow.

And like all modern European competitions it has grown into a bloated tedious borefest.

I long for the days of the European Cup (with ONLY champions in it), the old UEFA Cup and the beautiful fantastic Cup Winners Cup.

Money and greed have fucked the game to death.

There's a nice Russian-owned bar in Shoreditch with all of those attractions - and with the added bonus of a crowd of wannabe-gangsta's hanging around, desperately trying to look dangerous, wearing adidas trackies, cheap gold sovereigns and necklaces.

Anyway I don't see what the fuss is about the schedule, Monday, Thursday, Sunday. In reality the actual schedule is Monday - Sunday because you just send the stiffs off to Timbuktu or wherever the hell these sheep herders play and keep the big guns at home to dispatch Brighton Sunday.

Just send the dross on the plane - BGV, Feo, Flop-spina, Debuchy (he alive?) etc. etc. Job done.
