In this day and age it's unbelievable that UEFA permit a country, which essentially isn't European, to enter their competitions with this sort of shit being allowed to go on. Utter nonsense which only leads you to summise that whatever was in the Azerbanjo goody bags for the UEFA delegates must have been really fucking good.

also, azerbaijan is technically straddling both europe and asia

The Republic of Azerbaijan lies between the two continents of Asia and Europe. Azerbaijan’s total area size is 33,400 square miles, with around 2,687 square miles lying in Europe. So it does not really 'straddle' the two continents but rather has a couple of toes poking into Europe.
